I, like millions of others, want to learn Objective-C so I can write an iPhone app that will instantly sell ten million units and allow me to retire by year's end. I bought three books to help my on my way (1, 2, 3). Being well versed in web programming, I figured this would be a challenging, but possible transition. Boy oh boy was I wrong. Please help me find a bridge between my procedural PHP ninja skillz and the fantasical (and ever-frustrating) world of OOP C languages. [more inside]

I'd like to play the board game Clue either through a web browser or an iPad/iPhone app. Ideally I could play against a friend or friends where we sign in/sign up and AI fills in as the other players as needed. If the playing-against-friends part isn't possible, then playing against random people online or AI would be fine. I've seen a Clue game on the App Store, but it's "Clue" in name only, not the actual board game. Maybe there's a Clue ripoff somewhere that follows the same room/weapon/character whodunit format? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for experiential narrations of what it's like to own and use an iPhone or an Android phone as an ubergeek. This will help me decide what to do now that my non-smart T-Mobile phone is starting to die. [more inside]

I want an iPhone app that will allow me to get back to where I've been using the GPS, Compass and (optionally) mapping software. Essentially, I would bookmark places I want to return to. Then, to get back to them, I can just open the app, hit the bookmark and it tells me which direction to travel and how far to go. [more inside]

Now my ipad and iphone are recognized by iphoto but not itunes. I checked, and I have the latest version of itunes installed. (I also have 3 separate accounts on the computer if that makes any difference). Please help!
My wife wants to get an iPhone, and is currently on Verizon. I already have one. What's the best route for us to go? If she gets an iPhone4, can I take it and give her the 3GS just by swapping the SIM cards? What is your experience with AT&Ts family plans, or are we better off having separate accts? Does ordering the phone online make anything more difficult? [more inside]

On Friday, I used Sn0wbreeze to update my (jailbroken) iphone 3gs from 3.1.3 to 4.0. Everything went smoothly, and I restored all my previous apps and files. I synced the phone a few times that night to get all my settings the way I wanted. Today, I plugged in my phone to sync it, but now iTunes is showing the "Set Up Your Phone" screen, with the options of either setting it up as a new phone or restoring from a backup. What gives, and how do I make it quit? [more inside]

Thanks to the easy new web-based jailbreaking tool, even an idiot like me was able to jailbreak my iPhone4. I've been enjoying it for a few days, but there are a few functionalities that I'd love to add to my phone, that I can't seem to find on Cydia, etc. I'm pretty new at this, so can anyone help me find an easy way to tweak my phone in the following ways [more inside]

I newly purchased an iPhone4 on Vodafone in the UK. Gmail email seems to work beautifully, in a "push" fashion. Yahoo email ( a non paid account on yahoo.com) just does not seem to do it in "push" fashion. Email is erratic. This is despite resetting "all settings" and re installing account. Any solutions guys? Does anyone know the yahoo IMAP settings, as I am told that solves the problem? Thanks

Is there an iOS app that will let me choose a shade/hue/colour and then tell me the artsy-fartsy names for it, or those that are near fits? There are plenty of tools for finding hex values, but I want the pretty names like apple green, persimmon, feldgrau etc.

I'm looking for a low cost timecode slate. Which is this But instead of costing $1200 or so and being a dedicated piece of equipment. Maybe something more like this. Though I don't have an iPhone so that program is out. Does anyone know of one that runs on Windows, like a tablet PC? or maybe one that was self built from a microcontroller (arduino, stamp, etc) SMPTE can be read by the Arduino so it might be possible. Thanks.
Can anyone explain a seeming inconsistency in the iPhone remote app for controlling iTunes? And ideally provide a work-around. Under certain conditions, iTunes DJ is stopping mid-track and other music starts when it really shouldn't. [more inside]
If I jailbreak my iPhone 3G can I use it with another carrier besides AT&T and if so, who. Will it work the same, will all the apps work? Background: I bought the phone from Apple after AT&T told me service at home was available. But it wasn't, they finally admitted it, and said they'd authorize a return to Apple for a refund. But I never got around to sending it back. I needed a phone ASAP so bought a Blackberry on Sprint. But I miss the bells and whistles of the iPhone apps. Is it worth jailbraking and trying to use it? I'm not very clever with gadgets and lose patience. Now that jailbreak is legal I wonder if I should try to make it work. If so, what carrier?
I'm looking for an iPhone app that lets me 'check in' wherever I go. I don't want something like FourSquare, or Gowalla that makes all that information public, but instead something that allows me to see on a map all the places I've been over time. Does such a thing exist? I guess I'm looking for something a bit like Momento, but with maps. To clarify, not a GPS tracking app for runs, biking, etc, but something more long term, where I can run the app and log the fact that I've been to certain locations.
When I hit the "back" arrow/button on my Iphone4's browser I am more often than not taken back to an older, previously viewed version of the site and not the last/latest page that I was viewing. Like it's going back in time to a cached page. How do I stop this? It is very annoying.

iPhoneAppFilter: I have an Excel document on my home computer that I would like to be able to open and edit on my iPhone while I'm out and about, on an ongoing basis. The catch: app needs to be able to handle "index" and "match" functions. Without this functionality, the app would be useless to me. List of previous disappointments: DropBox (can't edit), QuickOffice (interfaces with DropBox but can't do index/match functions), Calc Lite (can't open document). I have zero programming skills and not that much more cash. Is my dream app (or combination of apps) out there?

Can you recommend some great educational media for my nearly two year old daughter? I am looking for good DVD's, computer / iPhone software, or websites that I can load up for 30-60 minutes a day. I would like something she can learn from, but if she is having fun, that is cool as well. Right now she is a Dora and Diego addict. I just got her a few LeapFrog preschool DVD's that she loves. She can sing her ABC's and can count to 10 in English and Spanish. She is just starting to be able to answer "How does the letter A, B, C, etc. go?' She knows how to flip pages and push buttons on the iPhone. Are there any computer learning games that a two year old could handle. Flash games? iPhone games? Answers to this question do not involve telling me to take my daughter outside. I am familiar with the debunking of Baby Einstein. I would just like to find some good stuff for her to watch, play or interact with. General toy recommendations are good as well.
