This has happened twice now, and it is freaky. Google chrome on the iMac I use in my office at work (at a university) will have usernames and passwords for people who have never been in my office ever. The first time it happened it was my father's email, and the second time it was my stepmother's. Why would chrome be filling in these odd emails when it doesn't even save my own login information after closing the browser window?

Since I'm semiretired now, I've offered to help our local land conservancy plan, map, and develop a new preserve just a mile from my home. One of the tasks will be to map all existing trails and roads on the property. The staff at the conservancy asked that they receive the files in a GPX format.
Soooo... I'm looking for an iPhone GPS app (I'm using a 4s running 6.1.2) that will allow me to: Map a hike, indicate and name multiple waypoints, and export the hike as a GPX file. It would also be great if I could attach geotagged photos within the app.
Any suggestions? And, if anyone has any experience with this type of activity, is there any function that I'm not thinking of that would be useful? Thanks much!

A friend's iPad has a screen protector that is slightly micro-bumpy and rubbery. I call it "nurbly." It breaks up reflections but doesn't dull the display the way matte screen protectors do, since it is shiny, but bumpy. Another friend has the same thing on his iPhone. Neither of them can remember where they got it. Does anyone have this and know the name of it? I want to put one on my iPad mini.

I plan on using Talkatone for making wifi only calls back to the US as well as using the data part from the SIM Card to text back to the US while I'm there.
It would be nice to be able to purchase a SIM Card here in the States before traveling, but I'm not against purchasing a SIM Card at or near BZE Airport when we arrive.
Thank you for your time. I do appreciate it.

Siri is touted as an advanced piece of engineering technology, but as far as I know I can open Apple made apps and run a command. Very helpful if you figure it out (it's worth it), but limited indeed.
What are its limits? Can this be extended?
Note: There is no Siri API, or god forbid, SDK, to speak of.

I have an extreme aversion to video chatting. I'm not looking to AskMeFi to fix that. I'm just looking for help in: 1. setting my iPhone 4 so I'm not invitable to FaceTime (it's too easy to accidentally hit the "accept/answer" button), optimally while maintaining the ability to invite others (in case of some sort of emergency need), and 2. figuring out how to make audio-only Skype calls (incoming and outgoing) using my iPhone's SKype or Skype-WI-FI app.

I have a broken iPhone4 on AT&T (the home button does not work). I just ordered a Nexus 4 to replace it, so I'd like to sell the broken iPhone to offset the cost of the new phone. Googling for places to sell a dead iPhone brings up a lot of options, not all of which look legit. Does anyone have a recommended place to sell a dead iPhone to?

I'm working on a project that requires me to record a couple dozen interviews (two speakers max). Each interview is 45 minutes to an hour and a half in length. I have an iPhone 5 and want to use it to make my recordings. I need to send the recordings to a transcriber. I'm looking for a simple, reliable app that will make clean recordings. I'd like to avoid using an external mic if I can. Any favourites you can suggest? No preference for free or paid apps, I just want something that works well and is foolproof.

Is there a good app for recording actual unfiltered/ambient sound on the iPod? There's a chronically but intermittently reoccurring high-pitched sound that I'm trying to record, but all the sound recording apps aimed at recording voices or music seem to filter it out. Video recording captures it, but the resulting file is too large for my purposes (attaching to an e-mail).

Please recommend your favorites. I want warnings if it is going to delete any contacts as well, as this has been a problem in the past.

My ideal situation would be basically an iPod Touch with unlimited 4G connectivity for $50-60/month. I'd love to figure out a way to still have all of the features I love with my iPhone, while simultaneously ditching the cost of making calls. Seriously. I have so many anytime minutes banked it's nuts. I'm grandfathered on unlimited data with AT&T (which means nothing really), except that I have a AT&T iPhone 4S to use once my contract is up next year. (Thought it might be pertinent for scenarios.) Not interested in carrying around a second device (e.g. mobile wifi). Thoughts?

I just got a new iPhone. I used to have an adroid and had a favorite running app. Unfortunately, that app is not available for the iPhone. So, MeFite runners, what works for you? I'd like something what won't seize up or shut down in the middle of a run, that will let me listen to music or a podcast, and that will track my runs for me. If possible, I would also like an app that lets me record cross-country skiing and time on the elliptical machine (my winter and non-running day activities). Thanks.

Does anyone know what is going on with the text messages shown in
this image? Mrs. fireoyster's iPhone keeps getting these texts, starting about a month ago, from a number that none of us knows. They started out once every few days and are now up to two or three per day, usually eight to twelve hours apart. The string "DT" always begins each text and the string "-cowb3ll" always ends each text. Searching on the Internet has yielded no results. She does use iMessage and it functions properly. Her current number was ported from my account on Twilio; could this have something to do with it?
