I have been tasked with creating a I.T. Asset Management / Inventory Process for my company. We are a relatively small shop so investing in a big framework / system would be overkill. We have maybe 200+ nodes, 20 Servers, 20 laptops, 20 Blackberrys, 15 Network Printers. Essentially I would like to track inventory from procurement to disposal. Anyone have a good approach, methodology, or system that I could follow? Do I need a label maker, a spreadsheet, a WMI script? I have no clue where to start and how to do this following some best practice.

AJAX / DHTML / javascript-filter: If I have an HTML table of numbers, is there a script I can add which would allow me to have a little -/+ button for each cell that would adjust the value of a number in the cell? This is for simple inventory management and would preferably just run as a local HTML file on a Mac OS X machine. (or flash drive)

I run a tiny record label. So far we have one release under our belt and book keeping has been relatively easy as far as keeping track of what outlets we sell the cd too, and keeping track of collections and what not...We have three releases planned for the upcoming months, and this is gonna throw a wrench into our book keeping.. I could very well, just adopt the same policy for every release as I do for our first one, but it seems like a lot more work then needs to be done.. I keep a simple ledger for each account with how may cd's they took in, what they ow, and when a check comes in subtract the payment from the existing balance. NOw with some vendors having two or three of our releases, and checks coming in for more then one of our releases, Im gonna need a better way to keep track of ... (more inside) [more inside]

What are the best low cost or free web sites for researching real estate information and statistics? I'm primarily interested in current appraisals, past sales history and property taxes for a single address, and also current and historical inventory of homes for sale (# of MLS listings) in a single town or zip code. I'm aware of Domania.com. Any others? I had access to realquest.com for a short period of time, but they are rather expensive for individual use.

Suppose I wanted to build a web site on which a number of items was listed that were available for members of that web site to sign out. I would want the status of items (in/out) to be viewable by people looking to take out items in real time. What would I need to do this and who would I hire to do it? In addition, what would I expect to pay? What's the best way to find such a person?
