I host a local radio show of, well, local music. I have a job interview this Friday. It is in a city 90 minutes from where I currently live, and 30 minutes from where my wife currently lives. Looking at my resume, it's obvious I'm having a good career at my current place of work, steadily getting promotions and increased responsibility. Last week I interviewed for a job that, after the interview, I decided I really want. The interview went well in that I got out everything I wanted to get out. The moment I got home I wrote thank you emails. They said they'd be in touch in 7 to 10 days. This is day 7. Would it be appropriate to write again to express my interest in the position or, as I suspect, am I just being impatient, if not needy? I've read in these posts and elsewhere that a huge mistake job seekers make is not outright asking for the job. In my thank you emails, I wrote that I thought my skills were a perfect match for the position, that I could easily fit into the culture, and that I was very interested in the position. I have a meeting with an overseas company, to discuss their need for an east coast representative. They are expanding. It is a high-end, energy efficient product. I have some knowledge in the area, and the product, but more as a consumer, never as a rep, (with ANYONE) We have worked together a bit, but this would be a new role, relationship. I applied to this job online by sending my resume, and after I was contacted by the HR lady, I told her that I had an updated version of my resume and so I sent it to her. A few days later, I then realized that I actually sent a wrong copy of my resume, which leaves off some of my education. It also erroneously outlined a job function that I did not actually do. The reason why it is wrong is because I didn't know how to word it precisely at first, but after a second draft (the correct version) I came up with a better description of what I did. So, do you guys think it will be fine if I email her the correct version of my resume and explain that I inadvertently sent her the wrong version? Or will it look bad? I am sitting-in on job interviews for a new position in our department. I can ask additional questions our boss doesn’t pose and I’m being asked for my input. According to a family friend who also works there (and informed me of the available position to begin with), I was a top contender for the job, but they ultimately went with another person with experience, whereas I had none (even though it was entry level - but I get it, experience is better than lack thereof.
