I'm a graphic design student. Members of an agency came to our class to recruit for their unpaid internship. Their work is great, they seem nice, but is it a bad sign that the internship is unpaid?

I'm making a documentary in 40 cities in 10 months. We're travelling a lot, and need certain jobs done in many disciplines while we're away, which will be a large drag on our time. We would like to employ someone to help, but have no funds, other than to offer a slice of the end profits should the project become successful. So, an internship? A volunteer? How can I create one that's useful to the intern?

Hi there,
I'm currently a first-year Political Science major with a pre-law focus, and am very involved in my school's Mock Trial and pre-law fraternity.
I've always wanted to work for
The Innocence Project, and that's still my goal after graduation. On the
internship page, it says, "We encourage using the internship to gain course credit and to seek “work-study” grants with your educational institution, if that is an option."
How do I go about this?

My mom is a singer/songwriter. She asked for some help with some online-marketing, website-redesign etc type ideas, and I said "sure"! She's now got me hooked up with a whole list of "tasks" that are really beyond my skillset, and interests, and has set it up for me as a 20-hr per week job (since I'm only working part-time). I'm sure there are people who'd love to do this as an internship (she's even willing to pay!), who are interested in music/music promotion -- what are they called, how can I find them, and how do I convince my mom that she'd be better-served hiring them?

I began an internship at a very small commercial arts organization about a month ago. A week or so into the job, one of the 5 person staff left on good terms for another opportunity. Following her departure, the possibility of a full time position opening up (as replacement) was presented to myself and the other intern, mostly in a friendly manner to make sure we were both interested. Obviously, both of us were very enthusiastic about the opportunity. So here is my question...

I'm an Environmental Policy & Planning Major (3rd year). I've been applying to internships over the past weeks for Spring and Summer positions. Great news: I've already been accepted to Greenpeace's "Organizing Term" and I have two other positions I will soon hear a yes/no on for Spring.
Bad News: The Greenpeace Organizing Term program will cost me $4000. The program itself is an intensive mix of activities, virtually on a full-time basis (for 2 months of summer, out of 3), including classroom trainings, expeditions to other states (as well as another country for meeting with other international activists), media trainings, and some readings. All of it is included with the cost (including flight/transport/food for a week).
What to do? (More in the extended explanation):
