I'm a sophomore biology major but I want to get internships in consulting firms or pharmaceutical companies, both of which are coming to my school tomorrow for career fairs. Unfortunately, I'm a biology major which isn't necessarily the most marketable major in the world. My experience is mainly through clinical research and I held three jobs last summer but none of them are related to the internships I'm looking for. [more inside]

Two weeks ago, I had an interview for an internship with a huge organization that does exactly what I want to do, got a Masters in, etc. I was offered it and accepted on the spot. [more inside]

I just landed a dream internship (part time, unpaid) that will probably last about 6-8 months. Please help me avoid self sabotage so I can turn it into a job/career. [more inside]

Why can't I find a job with my biochemistry bachelor's degree in Seattle, WA (grad school is most certainly on the agenda, but not for another couple of years)? What other options should I explore, and how do I go about it? [more inside]

How does one go about asking an organization/company who has nothing advertised if they need any help? This would be unpaid.
As I transition to another career (in this case, Urban Planning), I'm trying to get more experience and be productive at the same time. I'd like to volunteer/intern (whatever is the difference?) at firms or organizations that deal with that sort of thing (I can make that list). I think in my resume/e-mail I can explain my transferable skills (IT background).
I'm doing this as I'll be attending graduate school in a year and would like to be productive outside of test prep and applications.
Looking for tips on who to contact, if e-mail is the best way, and how to structure the communication.

LawFilter: I am applying for an internship at a small law practice that focuses on environmental law. What should I do to prep for this beyond the normal job interview routine? Also, how reasonable are the conditions of this internship (details below)? [more inside]
