A break from the internet, but with internet tools?

I'm planning an internet/app/social media free week, and could use some advice on the best way to do this. Specifically because some of the items I want to work during my internet break require online tools. Also, my phone doesn't work well without data; making this extra special snowflake-y. Internet free "retreat" on the East Coast(ish)

I am looking for somewhere nice to go for around five days to clear my head. This mainly means no internet for me as I could really do with a break. I'd like it to be sunny, warm, maybe quiet, and rural too although I am not superkeen on nature (such as bugs and dirt :)). I have been looking into monasteries in upstate New York but perhaps there are better options out there? I would like it to be low-budget - and would be happy to work for shelter/accommodation as well. Something to do with my hands, like gardening would also be neat, although I am not into camping. I love travelling by rail, not so much by coach/bus. I don't think I'm gonna wanna be driving as I haven't in many, many years. Any recommendations? [more inside]

30-day e-tox

going without smartphone & computer post-work for 30 days, and am mostly wondering... so, what do my fellow solo-dwellers DO in the evenings, if not internet-related? have you done this before/how did you stick with it? [more inside]

Let me entertain me, and I'll have a real good time!

I need something to do at night that 1: Does not require electricity. 2: Will not rot, mold, or attract bugs. 3: Can be done by a solitary person. 4: Does not require particularly expensive materials, nor take up much room. 5: Is not particularly mentally taxing. [more inside]
