When buying a web domain, one is given the option(for an additional fee), to make the domain "private" where the owner of the domain is hidden from public view. Then the question is, how private is a private domain? Can a web smart person or internet ninja find out the information? The desire is to hide the domain and completely non-work related blog from my employer.

iMac slows to a halt but everything other device/computer+ kitchen sink works??

My old PC laptop runs perfectly as do any tablets on my apt public wi-fi. The iMac computer (Snow Leopard), slows to a halt and won't get to pages after a few times. I have done several things such as reset PRAM, gone to /Library/Preferences and moved all the files in the System Configuration folder to the Trash, and restarted Mac...The second bit helped for a week and now it is doing it again, no matter what browser. MacKeeper says the computer is alright, and airport utility just tells me I am connected to the internet. (I've done the reconnecting and assistant and diagnostics but nada...) I cannot figure this out and I have scoured the net. If somebody was downloading a ton on it, I would at least understand but any other devices work fine. My husband wants throw it out the window. Any ideas?

roadrunner webmail not accessible?

My folks are visiting. They won't migrate to contemporary email services such as gmail, preferring to rely on the email service from their broadband provider, Roadrunner. On the road, they have used "https://webmail.roadrunner.com/" as the point of access in the past. However, at the moment, the website appears to be universally inaccessible from within my hole LAN, wired or wifi. When I access the URL, no browser completes the page render. If allowed to timeout, I can examine the source for the page, and the sent content includes a frame hosting a javascript which appears to loop, directing the frame to load "https://webmail.roadrunner.com/". They are not interested in setting up mail client access or forwarding. How can I solve this?

Doomed with Rural Internet?

I am moving to the Tri-Cities in Washington State next month, to a scenic, quasi-rural part of the area. While the Tri-Cities have fast Internet, my specific address is a bit out of the way, and it looks like Frontier Communications might be my only DSL option out there. They do have a 25 Mb plan, but the reviews are not great. It's less important for fun, but I need fast Internet for my work. Am I screwed? How can I get the best Internet speed and reliability in this scenario?
