I currently have Comcast cable internet at home. I hate Comcast. I'm curious about these newfangled internet delivery systems including Netzero, FreedomPop and - is there anything else?

Home DSL service has been declining in quality and stability in recent months, and I'm at the point where it's time to consider canceling and switching to a different provider. Search engine pages seem to be spammed with fake "index" sites." What are my options? If you use ATT or Comcast, how has your service worked?

My DSL internet connection went kaput on Thursday. I rebooted my modem with the help of my ISP and all was well for a few hours. I figured it was my ancient modem that finally died. So, I pick up a new modem and plug it in and nothing happens. All the lights light up, my ipod touch and laptop see my wireless network but there's connection. I plug directly into the modem via ethernet cable and still nothing.

I'm moving to a new apartment in Louisville, KY and I need to decide on some sort of internet package. AT&T is apparently what most people in the area choose, so I've been looking at their options. I think that I might want either their DSL XTREME or DSL XTREME 6.0 but I don't want to pay for more than I need. I need to be able to download and upload music and videos, and I stream a lot of television shows and movies through Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming sites. I also need to be able to use Skype. Which option would be the better one?

I'm going absolutely crazy here! I previously had a 2Wire DSL modem set to bridge mode with the Linksys router handling PPPoE auth. I recently moved and I'm trying to do the same thing with a new Motorola 3347 (Netopia 3000) and I can't get it to work to save my life.

I currently live in San Francisco where I use WebPass, which I adore. It's by far the best ISP I've ever had: cheap, lightning-fast, and impeccable customer service.
Now I am moving to the East Bay, and I need a new provider. I'm a really heavy internet user, so this is an important decision for me –--- please help me make a good one.

Will be moving to Beijing and would like to have high speed reliable internet service in my apartment. We'll likely be living in one of the US or HK developed apartments along Chao Yang park. I've worked with DSL connections in serviced apartments in Beijing and Shanghai and was not thrilled with the throughput (70kbs) or reliability. The Great Firewall is not an issue as far as completely blocking sites, but I'm sure it affects transfer speeds from the US sites I'd be accessing.
