Fellow MeFi's, I am debating whether I should dispute the outcome of a marine insurance claim. Any input from someone that has dealt with insurance companies would be greatly appreciated. However, as I realise that my opinion on the matter is obviously biased, any independent assesment of the situation would also be very useful.

The RER B trains which go to the Paris airport were severely delayed on the morning of June 6, causing me to miss my flight. I have travel delay insurance, but the insurance company requires evidence of the train delay before I can make a claim. How would I get this evidence?

I just got a call from my insurance company telling me that someone had filed a claim against me for an accident I didn't have! They seemed to believe me when I said I didn't have an accident and are forwarding it to central claims. I'll hopefully get a call from them this afternoon with more information. Does this happen a lot? How would someone get enough information about me to file an insurance claim against me?
