My sixteen-year-old son got his license recently, and after a month (during which time he did not drive) we insured him for a month as we were going to be out of town and he needed the car. When we called our insurance company to remove him from our policy, we were told that the only way the company would uninsure him is if he turned in his license to the DMV.
We only have one vehicle, and he won't drive. He's not the kid who is going to sneak off in the car, either. So can the insurance company just drop us or otherwise hose us over?

I live in a apartment building with a floor of parking inside the building. Two days ago, a neighbor who was parking her car next to mine dented and scratched the rear of my car. The damage is fairly minimal but will require some work. She was very apologetic about the situation and left me a voicemail stating that she had hit my car and that would should sync up to exchange insurance information. Later in the day, we talked and she suggested the we exchange a copy of each others insurance card.
In this situation, is it ok to give her a copy of my entire insurance card? Is there any information on this I should not be sharing? For reference, my insurance is GEICO.

I'm evaluating my insurance coverage, and I'm confused a bit on auto insurance liability. It seems like a typical liability policy is $100k per person for bodily injury. From the tales of medical bills I've heard, it seems like a bad accident could pretty easily cause bills far exceeding that. Even if I increase it to $300k or $500k, if the actual costs are higher than that, it could pretty easily wipe out all my assets. What really happens in accident cases like that? Do they generally just settle for the insurance limits?

I got into an accident with another motorist. She side swiped my car and then hit a electric post. She failed to yield and was found to be at fault. Now the electric company is asking for $10k to repair the pole damage from me. Without having property damage insurance, and living in a no fault state, is there anything I can do?

We are on a 7 week road trip through the USA. I have a California driver's licence and own the car. My wife has an Australian driver's licence. I'm having trouble putting her on the insurance as a driver with AAA and I have contacted several other insurers who won't take on the risk. Plenty of googling has come up empty? Is there an insurer who is worth calling?

My relative backed into my '09 Civic in the driveway. The front emblem and fender are bent; it appears that the radiator is bent as well. The car starts without problems. What am I looking at? Should I drive it into the shop, or have it towed? Relative doesn't have the wherewithal to fix this; should I make a claim against my own insurance?

Car buying out of state:
I have a NJ license, am staying with my parents for a while in NH, but my job will be in MA and I intend to also live there eventually.
I need to buy a car to commute to work ASAP. I haven't had a car in 4 years. What is the best way to proceed in this situation, i.e., should I get a NH license right now, buy the car in MA with my NJ license, no idea. Will the dealer provide temporary tags and insurance, if so, for how long?
I changed my address with the post office but I still own an apartment in NJ and I don't want to start paying rent ( and moving to MA) until that sells, which might take over a month.

In Massachusetts: Yesterday on my way to work, going about five miles per hour in morning traffic, I bumped the car in front of me. (My fault; I was totally distracted by the kid waiting for a school bus who looked like he was about to run into the middle of the street.) We pulled off to the side of the road and I took a look at the "damage" -- a couple of scratches to the paint on the (plastic) bumper....

Someone gouged my parked car and has been attempting to fix it with touch-up paint and clearcoat. The results are unsatisfactory to me, and this someone refuses to do any more. I would rather the scratch be completely gone, instead of remainder marks remaining. So far, the professional opinion has been to repaint the area for a few hundred bucks. What is my recourse here? Settle via insurance? I do not care to pay out of pocket for something that was clearly not my mistake.
