Just Like Heaven for piano and violin

Are there any arrangements out there for a violn/piano duet of The Cure's Just Like Heaven? Looking for sheet music, if possible. Are there sheet-music web-fora around for such a thing? How would I get this. How would I get my filthy paws on this

Looking for heavy, fast instrumental music

I like listening to heavy, fast music while writing but recently I find I am unable to do so if the songs have words (or at least words that I can follow). I am looking for rock/metal/industrial/post-whatever that has drums and guitars, but is either instrumental (like Mogwai), or with vocals that are not comprehensible (like ISIS) or buried (like Sub Rosa). How do you solve a problem like Maria? Without singing?

I'm trying to find the song "Maria" (How do you solve a problem like Maria) from The Sound of Music, but without the vocal track. I've written personalised lyrics for a friend and want to sing the song with (hopefully) the original music and my vocals over the top. Can it be done? [more inside]

More like Macklemore, but instrumental´╝č

So, after FPP after FPP, I decided to check out Macklemore, and I'm suitably impressed. At the same time, going along with the instrumental track on The Heist, I'm realizing that I'd love to listen to an album like Macklemore but, well, without the vocals. [more inside]

How do I listen to music without the lyrics?

In a bid to learn some bass riffs, I am looking for software that will strip lyrics from songs and give me only the instrumental version of the song. That, and I've always wanted to listen to my favourite songs in their vocally stripped incarnations. Any suggestions?

Tiersen-esque recommendations, please

Love Yann Tiersen's earlier instrumental music. Recently discovered Sweden's "Detektivbyran," which gives me much of what I used to get from Tiersen before he moved on, without being derivative. Tried last.fm and pandora to no avail - looking for other artists mining similar territory. Bonus points for inclusion of accordion. Does not necessarily have to be done on acoustic instruments. Don't want huge sweeping orchestral statements...prefer smaller ensembles who get the point across with fewer instruments or tracks.

No more tinny synthesizers!

I'm for looking non-karaoke instrumentals to sing over, preferably free. Ideally someone just playing an acoustic guitar or piano with no vocals, limited frills and high recording quality, either jazzy standards or pop. It's actually pretty hard to find all three at once on youtube and other such sites, so I thought I'd give Mefi a shot. Somebody must have a collection...any ideas?

Where's a good source for instrumental, edgy, creative commons licensed music?

I'm looking for good sources of creative-commons licensed, edgy rock instrumental music. A really good example of this is www.saviumsaliva.com. The music there just seems to work for the podcast that I'm working on. I've tried Jamendo, and one other "search engine" for creative commons licensed music, but slow going. I keep hoping for the motherlode.. So far, not so much. Anyone have any other suggestions for places to look? Thanks!
