Have you ever installed and used Emacs org-mode? Can you please help me try it? The instructions here are ambiguous, vague, and complicated. I am an Emacs neophyte, so it would be awesome if someone could explain this slowly to me! [more inside]

I'm trying to install Ubuntu Server on a just out of the box Dell machine. After completing the install the machine hangs (displaying only a blinking cursor), and subsequent attempts at reinstall from the LiveCD result in hangs as well. [more inside]

I'm looking for a simple web FTP interface to allow clients to upload files to my web server. I'm using Dreamhost, so it has to be installable on standard Apache / PHP / MySQL, etc. I'd like to have a simple "upload file" area in the client's section where they choose 1-3 files and click "upload."
