We ain't got no budget!

CHALLENGE TIME! You are lent some expensive, professional grade video equipment for 18 hours and told that you may use it as you see fit in the time you have. Assuming little to no preparation beforehand, what do you do and/or film with it? Ideally you'd like the owner (or anyone else who sees your work) to be mildly impressed, knowing that you have no actual solo film making experience whatsoever. [more inside]

My imagination has been debunked!

In the past 24 hours I've discovered that both of my "million dollar" ideas (for websites/services/apps) are already out there and established. To me, these weren't just "good ideas", they were "innovations" I was emotionally invested in and slowly working towards. How do I move on? (in two parts) [more inside]

Soliciting Quotations

Completely lost my motivation to do what I love, what happened and how do I get it back?

A few years ago I used go through a book in a day, was drawing constantly, writing for fun and was becoming halfway decent at the guitar. Now I can barely get around to reading the first chapter, haven't even written a page nor drawn anything in the last few years and my guitar has been gathering dust. What happened to me and how do I get my mojo back? [more inside]

Fall down seven times, get up eight.

I'm looking for really terrible creative works made by well-regarded artists. For example, Picasso's secret crappy drawings, or John Coltrane playing out of tune. I welcome examples from all creative pursuits from all eras: literature, music, art, dance, theatre, film, architecture, graphic design, etc. [more inside]

I have no original ideas! Help!

I need to recultivate my artsy hobbies, most specifically my writing and drawing. The problem is that I can't seem to initiate anything - I have no new ideas, nothing to work on. I'd also like to grow as a writer, but I'm my own worst critic and stop before I start (fear of failure and whatnot) - I'd like to hone my skills but I'm petrified of, well, sucking. [more inside]
