Looking for information on PAYG cell phone (NY state), inflatable mattress, All-In-One scanner, fax, photocopier and printer

Moved to NY (NOT NYC) from Sweden, need information on PAYG cell phone, inflatable mattress, All-in-One scanner, fax, photocopier and printer. I moved to NY state from Sweden and my job will involve moving from one place to the other every 3 months or so. Hence, would like to maintain as little belongings as possible.

Since I haven't got my SSN yet, I have to go with PAYG phone. I am checking all cellphone carriers I am aware of but feel like very little information is offered on the web. Going to the stores isn't helping either. I am curious which carrier has best coverage in NY state? Also, do I have to use carrier's phone to be able to use their SIM?
I considered delaying buying PAYG phone and use cellswapper later but I am not too sure how good is this idea.

I am looking for king/queen size inflatable mattress, which brand is good to go with? A previous thread on me-fi directs me to Aerobed. Any other recommendation? (or if you didn't like Aerobed, why?)

I am also interested in All-In-One Scanner, Photocopier, Fax and Printer. I checked cnet.com reviews but there is a conflict between editor's ratings and user's ratings so not too sure how much I should rely on them. I wonder if its a good idea to have such All-In-One equipment and if yes, any recommendation?

What are your favorite toys for the lake or pool side?

Lake toys! What are your favorite toys for the lake or pool side? Going to be spending some time at the lake house this summer and I'm looking for some toys that adults and kids would enjoy. We have dock with 13' off the end. Also have an upper deck that we can jump off of.

I was looking at some inflatable or fiberglass slides, maybe an air bag to launch the kids in the air. Water guns and rafts, whatever.

What toys do you keep coming back to?

Inflatable kayakers take note

Can I glue loops on to my PVC Coleman 2 person touring kayak using pvc cement to facilitate towing a small raft behind? Does anyone have any experience with this, or, have better google-fu than I, and can find a site with discussions on inflatables and specifically inflatable modding?

Would I be compromising the airtightness of the area I glue?

Thanks!

Hot to repair an cheap inflatable boat?

Inflatable boat repair: I bought this Coleman inflatable kayak. I tore about a 3" hole in the side. Any advice on repairing it? You would think the internet would be full of helpful how-to advice for this, but no luck. And most of the patch kits I find online seemed designed either for pool liners of for more robust fabric type inflatables. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this successfully (or unsuccessfully!). What repair kit did you use? And advice on the procedure? Thanks?

Boating; which are the best online discussion forums for motor boats?

I just moved onto the Puget Sound and need a small, affordable, transportable power boat and want suggestions from you about the best online boating discussion forums to ask further questions! Hi All,

I recently moved onto Alki Beach in the Puget Sound and want to get a low maintenance easy to transport but safe boat to place on the mooring buoy included with my home. I want the smallest, SAFE, boat with high transportability factor. Not looking for a yacht. Was thinking something like a Zodiac Futura MK III HD, or a RIB, or boston whaler. Something under 20' for sure.

My ideal situation would be an inflatable such as the above Zodiac, without a rigid hull, as this would allow me to deflate and easily transport and store the thing. I don't want to deal with marinas, winterizing, boat trailers, all that junk.

Now, I don't know if a 14' inflatable is a safe vessel for the puget sound.

I want suggestions from you about the best online discussion forums where I could ask more specific questions, as to what type of boat I should look for, etc.

Are inflatable sofas comfotable?

Are inflatable sofas comfortable? I am thinking of getting one of these for my studio. Are they comfortable? Do they get destroyed in 3 months? Are they worth $35 bucks?

Easy-Set Pool Leak

The pool: One of these.
The problem: Slow leak in the top ring.
The question: How to find the leak? The "spray soapy water on it and look for bubbles" method isn't working. Any other suggestions?
