In two days I will be taking a series of flights to travel from Australia to Europe for a very much needed month long break. Unfortunately I have a bad cold, secondary infections in my throat and sinuses and generally feel like crap. Given that 27 hours of travel time is not likely to be kind to me, how can I avoid turning up in Edinburgh in even worse shape? [more inside]

My wife and I were hit by a car a few weeks ago, and we both seem to be recovering nicely. However, today at work, I was scratching my navel, and it was moist. There was some whitish, mildly stinky fluid on the end of my finger. Any ideas? It sounds like some sort of infection, but I wanted a 2nd opinion...
