Have 10 days vacation and would like to take a cheap vacation within 1 day drive of South Bend, IN. (Say 10 hrs on road, one-way.) 2 people and we don't have much money ($1500 but maybe pushing it). Don't have to spend all 10 days away but at least 7. Have any cabin suggestions with nice towns or sights nearby? Hoping to eat out once at a decent non-chain restaurant for my birthday. My boyfriend is about to face a court date next week for a furnishing alcohol to a minor charge.... he would gladfully face punishment for this crime, however, he didn't furnish alcohol to a minor. The prosecutor wants him to accept the plea agreement and not waste anyone's time. My boyfriend just doesn't want it on his record. Any ideas?

My fiance and I just graduated from Purdue and we're preparing for moving to California... him to San Francisco (job at Dreamworks) and me to Los Angeles (grad school at UCLA). Pre-dreamworks-job-offer, we thought we would both be in LA, so all the problems/considerations for the move pretty much just doubled. Not to mention that when it is all said and done, we're going to be doing the long-distance thing for at least a year. I know that we're capable people and can get through this just fine together, but I'm kind of overwhelmed at the moment and could use some advice.

I'm in the UK, my mom is in Central Indiana. I would like to recommend her a good broadband package that will let us chat over Skype, etc. So nothing too underpowered.

A friend works for a company who has recently performed a background check on all of its employees. It has instructed him to fire all employees who come back with a previous felony, even though in several cases, they knew about the charges when they hired the employees. WastingThisWeek'sQuestionFilter: How do the locals pronounce "Cicott" in Lake Cicott, IN, USA? I've driven through that fair burg many many times in the last 25 years, and every time, I wonder the same thing. It's ambiguous from a phonetics standpoint, and Hoosiers don't seem to care a fig for phonetics anyway, when place names are involved.
