Why is someone signing me up for loads of job websites?

Several times over the last month my email has been used to sign up for many accounts on job sites like Monster, CareerBuilder and Dice Advisor. They use variants of my gmail address (e.g. krunk+1.234@gmail.com, krunk+12.34@gmail.com) to sign up about 20 times, and since the sites don't have email verification, I get bombarded by recruiter emails. Why? And what can I do about it? [more inside]

Gmail archive clean-up. Difficulty level: Gmail account = 10+ years old.

I just used the Unroll.me free service to unsubscribe from a ton of newsletters and clean up my inbox. It was awesome, but it's only for subscribed newsletters. I want to clean All Of The Email, not just Inbox email, and for the most part delete it. What else can I use to spring-clean my archive? [more inside]

How do I handle email overload when I can't block it out?

I was recently promoted to a new position at work. That's good! With it has come a surprisingly overwhelming flood of email that I have just not been able to stay on top of. That's bad. How do I manage an incoming stream of hundreds of (substantive) emails a day, when periodically ignoring it is absolutely not an option? [more inside]

Like Google Inbox but for Exchange?

Okay, after using Google Inbox for a couple of months, I am 100% sold on inbox zero. Is there anything like google inbox for that will work for a corporate exchange server that makes grouping and acting on email threads as easy as Google Inbox does it? Ideally for OSX, and I'll pay for it if I have to.

GMail Reads My Mind, Filters Important Messages To Trash

I love me some Gmail, so I'm kind of peeved with its most recent shenanigans. I rarely check my Trash, but out of curiosity I did this week and found a lot of messages that should not have been in the Trash. [more inside]

I need a single Outlook E-mail inbox, Easy

I own my own business. After a screen crack on a lap top, I bought a new laptop. I also bought Office 2013, with Outlook. How can I get a single inbox? It wants to set up multiple inboxes and I do not want to have to check different inboxes. I had a single inbox on my Outlook 2010. Every link I see on Google has ridiculous levels of power user requirements that I have neither the time nor the ability to do. Can anyone help? Running Windows 8 on an HP Pavilion.

Why is Gmail is routing some of my mail away from my inbox?

Some of my mail is not ending up in my Inbox, and instead is only found in "All Mail". This includes emails from my wife, which is slightly problematic! I don't have any filters directing mail to other locations. The problem is occurring within the Gmail web app, and subsequently on my other devices too (Mail in OS X, Gmail app on iOS). Searching for a solution to the problem only results in specific client issues, or problems with Filtering. Can you help troubleshoot?

Email triage for inactionable items

What's the best way to triage my e-mail and deal with the maybe/someday types of items? My problem is this: I often receive e-mails that are actionable but sometime in the future. Or I receive something that I would like to do perhaps someday in the future but, I just don't have the time for it now. Sometimes, I want to just mull it over for a few days. Then, there are some things that I probably should do and sometimes even have to do by they will have to wait until later. More at the jump... [more inside]

user.name, what does it all mean?

Please tell me everything I need to know about the GMail dot feature (placing - or not placing - a dot in the username of a gmail email address). I don't understand it, how to use it, what it does and how to take advantage of it. As an email receiver and sender. Also, what problems are created with this? Is there a way I can use it to categorize email, both received and sent? [more inside]

What are your MOST useful or interesting e-mail subscriptions, newsletters or notifications?

What are your most useful or interesting e-mail subscriptions, newsletters or notifications? I switched gears recently to get more things delivered to my inbox (as opposed to seeking them via RSS or visiting their site), and I've enjoyed the added convenience, and the convenience of centralization around my inbox. I'd like to improve the convenience even further by learning what inbox messages or services you've found most useful. [more inside]

How do I see subfolders in an inbox I have delegate access to in Outlook?

My nice boss has tried to make everyone's life easier by putting work she wants us to do in subfolders with our names on them, in her inbox. We all have delegate read access to her inbox but can't see the subfolders when we go to it. What permissions does she need to set us (or what else does she have to do) in order for us to see the subfolders?

"Mark as read" for incoming messages in GMail

In GMail, is there a way to mark incoming emails as read, if it has a specific word or sender? I thought I had seen this in the filter options before, but now that I am trying to do it, I don't see it.

Switching Identities in Microsoft Outlook

Switching Identities in Microsoft Outlook

I'm now at a computer that has Microsoft Outlook instead of Outlook Express. If I want 2 different email boxes/addresses/ etc. - how do I do it? It doesn't seem to have the Identity Switching feature that Outlook Express had.

I can set up another email address but mail to it ends up in my default Inbox.

Can I set up multiple identities?

Can I at least set up my mail so that each identity has a different in and out box?
