Does anyone have experience with trying to import *used* Dutch bikes (or Danish, or German, etc) into the USA? I've only been able to find *new* bikes for sale, and they tend to cost much more than similarly priced American / Chinese / Taiwanese re-makes (Linus, WorkCycles, Etc). [more inside]

I'm thinking about starting an import business specialising in very high quality and hard to find products, particularly tools and machinery.
I'm having trouble finding good quality online directories that list manufacturers like Alibaba that target Europe.
Does anybody have any advice on finding products in Europe?
Thank you kindly

I've replaced Gmail with Fastmail, thanks to AskMe
. Now, do you have a calendar suggestion? Preferably something with an Android app, that I can import events from my Google calendar, and with similar ease-of-use. thanks!

allows one to export a blog from within Blogger, in the form of a .atom file. Opening the file in a web browser produces the message "This is an Atom formatted XML site feed. It is intended to be viewed in a Newsreader or syndicated to another site. Please visit Blogger Help for more info"
My goal is to convert this file to a standard html bookmarks file, but I can't find any apps that can parse it so I can export it as html. Thanks for any suggestions. [more inside]

I understand and grudgingly accept that buying products made in China often involves supporting a system that treats workers badly and pays them poorly. But I also have believed that at least the workers are employed by choice, and that they deem work conditions they've opted for in some way superior to the alternatives. Today I learned that "Made in China" can also mean "made by the slave labor of religious dissidents."
How can I exist as a consumer in this global economy without perpetuating and contributing to this system? Is there any ethical way to buy Chinese imports, or do I risk endorsing inhumanity every time? [more inside]

So, I want to restore my iPhone to a backup that's about 1 month old. However, I don't want to lose all of the SMS/MMS and Contacts data that I've accumulated in the meantime. Is it possible to extract and import this newer data into my older backup? I've searched around previous, similar MeFi questions and various 3rd party software, but no dice. And, sadly, jailbreaking is not an option. [more inside]

I imported my car to Canada from the USA while in Vancouver on a work visa, so (as a non-settler) I paid no taxes on it. Now, I'd like to sell it — what should I do? Go back to the border office and import it for reals (how much would this cost?) or export it back to the US and sell it in a Carmax in Seattle or something? [more inside]

I am considering switching hosts at the same time and so I am trying to figure out how to export the current blog so I can import it once upgraded at either current or new host. But I can't figure out how to export on 126.96.36.199 and I am so frustrated. [more inside]

However, it won't export unless I install a much older version of quicktime (6.1) (Otherwise I get error message "export format may require audio or video tracks.") [more inside]
