Last night, I exported a work-in-progress iMovie last night to show a friend. When I tried to edit it again, it said it couldn't find the source material, so I restarted iMovie. Now the project won't open. Where did it go?

Valentine's Day video: I'm a really babe in the woods with video, but I'd like to make a loving video for my real babe in the woods, if you know what I'm saying. I'd like to add animated, circling, twittering birds, as an overlay to my video. You know, the kind cartoon characters see when the get hit on the head with a mallet or stove.

What is the best export format for my situation using iMovie 9 (input is mainly AVCHD 1080/50i)? I'd the like to save the finished product
1) In a future proof format so I can open/edit/convert for future uses.
2) On to an external HD attached to my XBox360 to play for now (I'm in UK so UK TV)

Sony NEX VG10 camcorder. Mac Mini, 2010 version, iMovie 09. Previously, video would import effortlessly (also into my own copy of iMovie 11) but now the device doesn't show up at all when we click the magic iMovie import button.
Any clues about changes, bugs, or configuration issues that may be causing it to not appear?
(The camera *does* show up as a USB disk, but I don't want to much with the massive files it generates directly - it tells me that the USB interface and cable are okay, though).

I just made an awesome 20 minute iMovie, then accidentally unplugged my mac while it was exporting. Now it seems to have dissapeared. It doesn't show up when i open iMovie and all i can find with my finder is a completely blank file with the name of the project. Will I have to spend
another 30 minutes editing it together or can I retrieve it somehow?

My library is doing oral histories with a Canon HD video camera, then migrating them into iMovie to eventually edit and burn to DVDs to store. I've been tasked with the tech-side of this, a job I'm woefully unqualified for. I need help converting iMovie files into some sort of audio format to transcribe them!

I have a CSV file relating a measurement value with elapsed time. I'd like to overlay the changing measurement value over a video, using the time values in the CSV to sync the two. I have a MacBook, iMovie, and not much else. Is there a reasonably cheap or free way to do this?

iMovie help! I've converted a VHS tape to digital format using EyeTV Plus on my iMac. I've followed the steps to convert the file to iMovie using the EyeTV program. This creates a iMovie project file and 22 5-minute clips in a .dv format. Problems arise when I open iMovie to start editing.

Does anyone know anything about iMovie 3? I've just finished creating a project, and when I play through in iMovie it seems fine. However, when I export it, it's like the volume settings are completely ignored. Music that I set at 10% is actually playing at 100% and is overwhelming the dialogue. There doesn't seem to be anything in iMovie's documentation about this, so I'm stumped. What am I doing wrong?

I was cranking out the family christmas email, complete with links to crappy home movies, and I can't get my last little clip made in Imovie. Specifically, Imovie won't let me insert transitions. Regardless of the length of the clips I'm transitioning, the "add" button is all greyed out.
Oh, and Merry Christmas!
