Whole-disk imaging under Windows

What is the best open-source method for imaging an entire external hard drive, and then mounting the resulting image as a read-only drive under Windows? The drive in question is an external USB FAT32 hard drive with two partitions. Is there a robust Win32 dd alternative? It would also be nice to be able to open the image under VMWare.

What graphic/icon will look wrong when mirrored?

We need to identify the front face of a transparent glass calibration target. If the target is held wrong-way to the camera, it won't work, so we need to make it obvious to the user when it's backwards. We can certainly just write "FRONT" on it, but it's going to a lot of different countries - is there a strictly graphical way to indicate this? An icon or graphic that looks wrong when viewed from behind and therefore reversed left to right? [more inside]

Why do I have to have two MRI's?

I need an MRI of both my lower back and my left knee. The lady in scheduling told me I will have to be in the MRI for 40 minutes for my back, and then I'll come out and then have to go right back in for another 40 minutes for my knee. This doesn't seem right. Why can't I stay in the MRI machine for 40 minutes and then have my back and knee imaged at the same time? [more inside]

It's what's inside that counts.

I just had an MRI and MRA in response to these issues, and the radiologist's report should be relayed to me in a day or two. I've already had one normal CT scan. I received a copy of all the images from this scan - should I look at them? [more inside]

Document Imaging/Management

I’m tasked with finding an appropriate Document Imaging/Management solution for my company. We’re an engineering/environmental consulting firm with several offices, amounting to about 300 users. The ones I’ve looked at so far are Questsys , Docstar , Laserfiche and, (the really cheap solution) PaperPort . Does anyone have any experience with these solutions, or can you recommend another solution that you have implemented?

Organizing Digital Images

Sorting digital images. I went digital a year and a half ago and I still haven't figured out a way to sort my pictures that really works for me (by which I mean edit, in the sense of going through and picking out the keepers and organizing them by merit, subject, whatever). Before I went digital I used to just get cheap 4x6 prints of everything on every roll and had a very efficient system for sorting through, editing and organizing them, is there anything software-wise which makes this intuitive and easy, or should I just start printing? I find moving images around in folders really counter-intuitive for this purpose. Any suggestions?

Is there a cheap, high-quality screenprinting kit for T-shirts?

For a while now, my ex-fashion student Kaffrin, and writing student Me have been wanting to hop aboard the t-shirt printing bandwagon. Is there a cheap, high-quality screenprinting kit out there? Or any better suggestions than inkjet iron-ons to get images and text from a computer screen onto fabric?
