Looking for a picture of His Drumpfness for a commercial project, obviously as inexpensive as possible, and the more objectionable his expression, the better. Any suggestions as to where to go?
I have seen text written for differently-abled kids with a very low level of reading ability, where each word had a symbol over it. For example, "good" might have a thumbs-up or a smiley face over it; "see" might have an eye with an arrow, or something. I've searched but google is failing me. Does anyone know of any online facility to generate text like this? [more inside]
I'm looking for a pack of images, each one of a number from 0 to 99. PNG format would be best, but if that's not available I'm not fussy. If there was also a way that I can script this in Photoshop or in Automator (Mac), or some other way to create them. I'd like to download something to test an idea, but eventually will have to make the images to my own specs. [more inside]
I have an art project that won’t go away which involves using pictures of the earth from above. I’m having some trouble figuring out how to find pictures that will work. (Google Earth isn't quite right) [more inside]
About four days ago, my iPad stopped showing images in web pages--there's either a grayed out box where they should be or they're just missing. All the text loads fine, it really just looks like image resources are deciding not to load. This happens in Safari, and in Safari view controller views like Tweetbot (so it's Webkit-wide?) Force quit Safari, restarted, still broken. Upgraded it from 9.2 to 9.3.1 this morning, and same thing. Did I toggle some setting inadvertently? Or is this a bug, and if so, how do I fix it?
I have accumulated - and curated - around 5K photos on Flickr. Quite a few of these are embedded/pulled into various places (blogpost example). In case Flickr does go under, I'm looking for quick/non-teccie solutions for moving the entire bunch of photos and also for easily updating all of those places where a bit of code pulls in the picture from Flickr. I have a bunch of images and I want to tag various objects in them by drawing simple shapes around the objects (rectangles, circles, etc). Is there some software I can use to easily do this? [more inside]
I need to take images like this and do something to them to turn them into super-blurred, semi-abstract background images like this. [more inside]
Do you know of a WordPress Instagram plugin that will allow me to show together in a single gallery all images that are tagged as a certain location OR that use a certain hashtag? To restate: it's all the images that are marked with a certain location, and all the images that are marked with a certain hashtag. I'm trying to avoid installing and testing dozens of plugins to see if any do this.
I saw a series of lovely hand-drawn anime-esque cartoons some time ago depicting, in an incredibly sweet and moving way, a couple in a long-term relationship and all its related intimacies. No text or speech-bubbles, just images of two people being together and helping each other. There was one scene of them eating ice-cream together, watching TV, etc. The overall colour palette was warm pink/orange hues. I cannot for the life of me find this again. Turns out terms like "relationship" "happy" "love" "long-term" do not a Google search narrow. If anyone knows that I'm talking about, I would greatly appreciate a link!
I need pictures that are funny or creative in some way, but also have several subjects/actions visible. Here's one that works really well. Here's a page with several that could work. Can you help me find more that are 6th grade appropriate and have limited/no text on them? [more inside]
I need to save a bunch of images. I also need to save their URLs. How? [more inside]
Flickr used to be my go-to site for getting free images to use in classroom powerpoints. Even with a lot of spam, you could search and find nice images, especially diagrams and non-photo visuals, quite effectively. Now it has even MORE spammy photos and the search function feels more inadequate and the site seems a whole lot *slower*. Are there good alternative archive sites I could turn to instead? (I've already tried Google and Bing Image search - they're OK, but a bit too noisy as well) Thanks for any tips!
I want to compile a list of art works that used chance operations and/or randomness in their creation. I am keen to incorporate pre-20th century, non-Western works, and lots of works by female artists, but anything you can think of will be super helpful. [more inside]
I've had an idea for a product review site and am trying to discern whether product photographs can be legally reproduced on the website, from where fair-use photographs should be obtained and how, if at all, they should be attributed. [more inside]
I'm putting a small (about 120 items) museum/library image collection online. My organization is using WordPress to create a simple website for this collection, and I need help finding the best gallery/portfolio plugin to display these images. I'm using Wordpress to design my site (photography portfolio). Image quality is very important to me, but I'm also concerned about page-loading times. Galleries will be on one page, and you'll scroll down to view images. I prefer this layout to flash galleries. Some questions about this.... [more inside]
Hear me out before you say "Just google it" -- I do plenty of google-shopping for images and generally find low-res crappy images that are not necessarily what I'm looking for. I am looking for Victorian/19th century images. They must be high resolution and they are preferably in the public domain. I plan on using them for mixed media collages -- mostly just for myself and friends/gifts and not for profit, however, I've been offered space in an art booth and I may end up using images for commercial gain. More details behind the cut. [more inside]
Recently I am sure I saw a script or action that analysed an image file and instead of generating the average colour, looked for a key colour (for example a logo colour) and provided that colour value. For example it might look at this image and give you the blue or the pink rather than a beige / skin tone average. Does this sound familiar?
I make an effort to visit art museums very regularly. I love art! How can I make the most out of my visit? I would also welcome suggestions for how to get more out of the books I read and films I watch. [more inside]

We just bought a Canon iPF8400 printer at work. Yay! We support student services and bought it for student organizations/groups/projects that need poster printing. However, now that we have it, we realize that none of our fellow IT folks have test/sample jobs to send to it. Help me find something to print... [more inside]
Is there a set-and-forget G+ / Picasa image collection scrape-and-republish tool? Thanks! [more inside]
I have been making greeting cards and would like to sell them. I have been doing rubber stamp and scrapbook paper stuff so far, but started looking for graphics I could print and incorporate. My google is failing me. It looks like shutterstock has great images, but even with the enhanced license, I cannot use them on things I will sell (unless i'm misreading what i find there). I'm getting really confused and getting a headache reading fine print everywhere and I must not be finding the right blogs or using the right words. Where do I find images (illustrations and graphics, NOT photos) that I can download, print, and use on my stuff that I will sell? [more inside]

I recently replaced a couple of old LinkSys WRT54G routers running DD-WRT in my home with a couple of couple of D-Link DIR-615 routers that I got as refurbs from woot.com. I bought these because the old machines only did 802.11 B/G whereas nearly everyone in the house now has a device that has 802.11 N capability. All seems well to me, but my wife and younger daughter consistently complain that they now frequently are unable to display some images from Facebook, and that this began to occur precisely at the time that I put these new routers in. Has anyone taken a course on miksang contemplative photography and how did you find it? Did it apply to all your images, i.e. stills and portrait photography. Can you provide some details on the learning process?

For a song I'm writing, I'm looking for images that represent the positive ideal of America, however naive. Bubblegum, the beach boys, Jimmy Stewart, you get the idea. The song is titled 'Miss America' and I'm looking for images that represent the America I miss in present times. This is far from a rah-rah composition -- they really don't have to be unambiguous -- in fact the ambiguity is something I want to drill into in the song. But I'm looking for people, places, things, ideas that have at one time represented an ideal of 'America', in the abstract, that I can play with as images in a song. No wrong answers. Thanks.
I'm looking for a dead-simple tool that generates an image consisting of text on a plain, colored, rectangular background for posting to social media. (Please stop yelling. I agree with you. A family friend has asked me repeatedly for a recommendation. Saying, "no," is absolutely not an option here.) Is there an existing, uncomplicated tool that does this already? Browser-based would be fantastic. [more inside]

In the original Superman films General Zod and his accomplices are trapped in The Phantom Zone, which in the films is represented as a 2D 'crystal' prison sent spinning through space. I am looking for any writings/insights into how the visual effects for this were created, and exactly by whom. Any other insights, from comic book lore, about how the Phantom Zone was represented - especially visually - would also be appreciated. [more inside]

The website is a collection of images, and one images leads to the next, in an associative way. Like, one composition suggests the next image, like a group of colorful balloons suggests a pile of colorful trash which then suggests a crowd of people, etc., and it seems to go on endlessly.
