I'm trying to create a book of tweets.
I've screencapped images of tweets as both jpegs and pngs, and uploaded them to four different "make a book" sites (Picaboo, Mixbook, Snapfish, and Shutterfly) and each time, the site warns me that the image is too low-quality to print well. The image preview does not look good.

Can I buy an iPhone and use it only as a camera without having to sign up for a service plan?
I don't really need nor want a smartphone, however, I'm now wondering, with Instagram, etc, if I should start shooting some stuff on a smartphone?
The only downside is that I like having big, canvas prints up around the house am under the impression that the phone's image quality is still pretty crappy.

We can put a man on the moon. We can turn a woman into a man and a man into a woman. We can create computers that are smarter than us. We know what the middle of the earth looks like...And so on and so on and so on...... We are a pretty much technology advanced race of humans.
How close are we to inventing a 'Nair' like product for the head? I'm bald and a bit lazy and tired of the routine of shaving my head 3x a week to maintain an appearance that isn't so 'gruff'. My wife likes me smooth!
Every hair removal product I read of is not recommended for the head, because our skin on top is too thin and the hair removal chemicals could do more damage then good.
So anyway, is there a solution on the horizon? Any miracle head hair removal gel, cream, mist coming out soon?
Life must be pretty good if this is what concerns me at the moment...... Humor me?

Vague identification question: I remember seeing a meme/joke about graphic design that was an image with text on it to the effect of asking the reader to hire the creator or use the creator's design. It included the phrase "I did everything right". Does anyone remember this and know where I can find it?

I'm looking for a service that will allow a group of people to upload and tag images to a single album, and then enable anyone in that group to search *in that album only* for a given tag and see all of the images that match. Bonus points if I can browse by tag.

I needed an image map. I'm no coder, so I went looking for a map and code that I could run, change and run it again to see what changed and if I had to change it back. I built a map that seems to be working, except for an small black square icon in the upper left corner. Before I removed the "img scr" line, there was a red "X" in the box. Now, it's just the box itself. I thought that whenever you saw a box like that, it meant the image couldn't be found. But, my entire image is there. When I preview the page in IE and Firefox, the map works and all of my links are where they're supposed to be, but the box won't go away. What is it? Should it go away or will something happen when I publish the site that will make the image nonfunctional? Will it be there when the site goes live?
Here is the code - http://pastebin.com/jcFJ433u

Hello Graphics Minded MeFiers. How can I (ungraphics minded MeFier) make a simple 3d image like the one posted below? I have spent a week or so with several programs but all have proven too complicated or look too ugly. Isn't there a simple program out there that I can "paint" 3d ribbons with like in the linked image? thanks all!

I have a lot of images for a card game I'm working on. I want to put them on a single web page in printable form. Automatically, if possible - there are a LOT of images. (They're all in one directory, though.)
Bonus points if the size of the images can be easily rescaled so they can fit the sizes of cards from other games (so they can be sleeved together, for instance.)

In the original Superman films General Zod and his accomplices are trapped in The Phantom Zone
, which in the films is represented as a 2D 'crystal' prison
sent spinning through space. I am looking for any writings/insights into how the visual effects for this were created, and exactly
by whom. Any other insights, from comic book lore, about how the Phantom Zone was represented - especially visually - would also be appreciated. [more inside]

I have a large graphic (say, 20 screens' worth, vertically scrolling) that is full of text that needs the image to be viewed at full size to read. When putting this on a website, I'd like much of this text on the image to be clickable, i.e. linked. I'd prefer not to use the HTML map tag or Flash, and I'm no coder. Is there a web service that could make this easier? [more inside]

What sort of clothes to wear to project an image primarily of trust and secondarily of mystique/mystery? In seeking to improve myself, I want to upgrade my wardrobe. At work I can wear and usually do, wear T shirts and jeans. I'm tired of that. As part of my self-improvement, a book (Fascinate) shows that I'm viewed as trustworthy and mysterious. I'd like to dress for that.. I'm mid 40's male and have always been a T shirt and jeans guy. This is just one area that I just am not fully understanding

I bought a print of a painting I love in the only format available: A full bleed art show poster on glossy 11"x17" bond. The painting reproduction is approximately the top half of the poster, say 10"x8". I can clearly see the grain of the canvas in the print, and it is entirely possible that the original painting is not much larger than the reprint. So my question is, is it feasible to have this print blown up to twice or thrice it's size without sacrificing quality? [more inside]

You're on Facebook and many of your contacts are expressing their opinions, frustrations, affirmations and wit by means of shared and reposted .jpgs with some sort of text sentiment on them. Sometimes they're simply text, sometimes there is a background photo or illustration. What are these things called? Have we got a collective term for these graphic motto things?

I have looked into processing.org and started to toy with simple geometric shapes, but yet to stumble across an animation with man/woman actors. I am looking for software (preferrably a portable app) which will allow me to embed an image or images into a file and allow me to add text to that file both above and below the image. I am not looking to edit the image. Word does the job perfectly well, but I don't have it on all of the computers which I switch between - annoyingly I switch machines a lot, but they are all windows machines. I would prefer not to use Open Office either and would prefer the software to be as light as possible. I would like to keep these files on my usb drive and keep the software application on there too if possible. This would allow me to plug in whenever I have a few spare minutes and acess to a computer. [more inside]

Image-stretch in Word 2010: I'm writing a manual which includes explanations of particular icons used in an app. I've taken screengrabs (.png) of each icon (between 10x10 and 30x30 pixels) using MWSnap, but when I drag them into Word they expand (approx 20%), and I have to manually re-size each one back down to the original size so it doesn't look stretched. Why is this happening and how do I fix this?
