Reinstalled Snow Leopard but ejected my external drive before this. Then, when done, plugged back in via USB as my usual custom....and Time Machine still shows up, but the External Seagate drive does not. I made sure that in Finder/Preferences that the external disc box as others was checked. I tried a different cord, and different port. I opened up Disc Utility and the External HD's partioned Time Machine is available but the other part, now renamed something else (a default name from manufacturer?) is greyed out and I cannot touch it.
Any thoughts? Should i now go to the boot disc of Snow Leopard? Not sure why TM shows but the rest does not.

I'd like to sync a shared event/appointment calendar with a work colleague, which we both can
edit (not just view) on our iMac computers, preferably without having to go to an external website to make edits, or paying for an outside service. Details within.

This has happened twice now, and it is freaky. Google chrome on the iMac I use in my office at work (at a university) will have usernames and passwords for people who have never been in my office ever. The first time it happened it was my father's email, and the second time it was my stepmother's. Why would chrome be filling in these odd emails when it doesn't even save my own login information after closing the browser window?

I have a late 2010 Macbook Pro (MacbookPro6,3) running Lion (10.7.3) and an iMac of indeterminate vintage (iMac11,3) running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I have a Thunderbolt cable. Neither mac supports Thunderbolt; both have MiniDisplayPort connectors. I want to run the iMac in Target Display Mode as a second display for the MacBook Pro. Can I make this happen?

I am about to come into possession of a 20" iMac that needs a new hard drive. I've swapped plenty of HDDs in and out of PC towers, but my understanding is that it's trickier to do in an iMac.
What is, hands-down, the
best how-to on the web that will walk me through how to do this?

I'm giving my 1GHz Power PC G4 Mac to a charity because I'm getting a new Intel-based one. What's the best way to restore it to factory settings, so there's no trace of my personal data or installed programs on it?
Thanks.

I do occasional audio recording with GarageBand. I just recently upgraded from a G4 tower to an Intel iMac w/Snow Leopard. I settled for analog audio in through the mic input on the G4 but I think I want to step up to digital input. I have an analog mixer, tube preamps, effects pedals, etc. so I don't need to have them in the audio interface. Midi I/O would also be nice but not necessary. What are my choices in a basic 2-channel Firewire(800)/USB(2.0) audio interface?

I'm considering buying an mac mini or 21.5" imac w. 4GB of RAM. Think that they're powerful enough to support upcoming Adobe CS5 (photoshop, bridge, and InDesign open), Windows 7 in a virtual machine, and HD YouTube video similtaneously--and in a timely manner?

I currently have an iMac 24" (early 2008). If you are acustom to the iMac you'll know that the brightness setting is extremely high.
Unfortunately everytime I boot the computer up the brightness settings reset and I have to go through the hassle of lowering the brightness.
Why is the keyboard/mac doing this? and can it be fixed?
