When using IE 6 or 7 and printing a page from the same website using two different computers, but the same printer, one prints at half a page length and one prints the desired full page. The print preview for each matches the way each prints. I can't figure this out for the life of me. Anyone?

Used to be that whenever I misspelled a URL in IE or just entered a nonexisting one, I'd be taken to a Google search page for it. Recently I installed a program that came bundled with adware, and now whenever I enter a misspelled URL, I'm redirected to quickbrowsersearch.com. Is there any way to change this? Besides switching to Firefox? [more inside]

In setting up access to my cable internet the cable company's set-up CD installed Internet Explorer by "so-and-so." I hate this. I know (assume, I guess) it was created with Microsoft's Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK). I also know you can't really uninstall IE, but is it possible to uninstall these IEAK customizations? A free "IE-cleaner" download or step by step clean-up instructions would be great!

I stumbled across an Internet Explorer display problem today that I just can't figure out. It feels CSS-related, and it feels float-related, but despite knowing all about the Holly Hack and all about how to deal with most every float-related IE bug I've seen prior to today, this one has me totally stumped. How do you get a bookmarklet to work? I try "dagging and dropping the link" to my links bar, but the link just doesn't drag. Is there an IE setting that you have to enable to allow dragging and dropping of links like bookmarklets?

Win XP Problem: Windows Explorer (and My Computer) keep crashing. If I bring either up, it crashes immediately (the computer doesn't crash). Around the same time, I noticed I'd acquired some spyware. So I ran Ad-aware, and it seemed to get rid of the bad stuff. But Explorer still crashes. I ran Norton Anti-Virus, which claimed it found viruses but couldn't fix them because I needed to adjust the properties of some of the Norton files. But I can't adjust these properties, because I can't get to the files (because Explorer crashes). Help.

IE for Mac. Scrapbook equivalents in FireFox, etc?
I use the IE Scrapbook feature of IE for Mac to quickly search for info in a certain public data base (the search term is entered in the search field of a web page, the page is saved as a "scrap,", and then I need only call up the "scrap" and hit the return key to update the search)

Is it possible to create the same kind of "scrap" in other browsers? There doesn't even seem to be an equivalent in IE for Windows?

I really love using Firefox instead of IE as my browser, but I'm having problems with Firefox at work. About half the time I try to use it at work, it won't load anything. It tells me that the page timed out. Whenever this happens, I have to browse with IE instead until Firefox starts working again, several minutes later. I have no problems with Firefox at home. I've heard this is a firewall-related issue, but I don't really understand. Is there a way to fix this?

CSS issues with IE. I'm working on a draft for my new photoblog and IE seems to be rendering part of it about 2 pixels off, but I cannot figure out quite why. Here's the page in question. It shows up fine in Mozilla, but in IE the logo and unordered list menu on the right are pushed to the right about 2 pixels, running over the border. I thought I just needed to use the "box model hack," but when I tried that it didn't work. Any tips? [more inside]

These last couple of days, whenever I use Internet Explorer and right-click to open a link in a new window, the new window is incredibly small. I resize it, I maximize it, and so on, but the new windows still keep opening at that same small size. I'm on my work computer, which has Windows 98. Any way to fix this?

BrowserFilter: Sometime during the past week, Amazon pages developed an annoying habit. When they're finished loading, they take the focus away from whatever page I'm reading. For example, if I'm typing a question in AskMe and an Amazon page completes its load, IE switches to the Amazon page while I'm typing. This sucks. How do I stop this? It's driving me crazy!

Does anyone know what the future holds for Internet Explorer? From what I know, IE6 SP1 is the last standalone installation of IE, bar a rumoured upgrade sometime this year that will feature a pop-up killer. What I am really interested in is what we can expect from the browser that will be included with Longhorn. Is it basically going to be Internet Explorer 7, in that it will simply have a few new features hacked in but essentially be the same base code? Or are they planning something more radical, like a re-write of major components and improved compliance with existing web standards and support for newly emerging standards? Anyone got the inside info? Cheers.

Why do IE favicons stop appearing? I'll bookmark a site, and for a while it will have its nifty little favicon next to it in the Favorites menu of the browser, then POOF!, it's gone. (Please don't bother with answers like "Switch to Mozilla" or "Microsoft sucks!", I'm curious to know why this happens, I'm not soliciting opinions)

For some unknown reason, my validating XHTML and CSS is totally broken in MSIE 6.0.. the text doesn't always appear, and will only show up if you minimize the browser and maximize it, or if you scroll down and then back up.
