Let's go down the psycho path! (that is the slogan I would come up with if I were a board game publisher. It is lame enough to work!)
Board Game Filter: So my mom called today, and asking about an old board game she loved. She used to play it with her cousin -- she thinks it'd have been about '73-ish. She remembers it being called "Psychopath" (or perhaps "Psycho Path"), but my google-fu failed on that name, so perhaps that is not it. (Actual Gameplay Description Inside) [more inside]

Calling all indie music geeks... I need help identifying a band. iPhone update nuked all the downloaded music in my Rhapsody app. I was listening to a band that I liked a lot. Singer had sort of baritone, with interesting lyrics. Imagine a post-punk, slightly less-lackadaisical Leonard Cohen. Pretty sure record is relatively recent and band name has the word 'Future' in it. Any ideas?
What movie or TV show was this? This has been nagging at me for years! Around 1978 or 1979, when I was 7 or 8 years old, I remember seeing a creepy teaser on TV for an upcoming movie, or episode of something, in which a man wearing dark glasses is speaking to someone off-screen. He says something like, "Don't go in there, kid, unless you want to end up ... like this!" And then he removes the dark glasses, and instead of eyes he has two things that look like raised, white ridges with horizontal slits cut into them. Something like Inuit snow goggles, but set into the eyes instead of connected in the middle. I never saw the show and this is literally all I remember about it. A friend of mine thinks it might be The Omega Man, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.
waste-of-a-question filter: Contemporary, upbeat song featuring hand claps. [more inside]
Here comes an ultra-vague what's-that-song request. Rock. "Descending", melodic guitar intro. Almost certainly 80s or earlier. [more inside]
Help me identify a children's fantasy story! It was a radio drama (possibly based on a book, possibly airing on the BBC) that I listened to when I was young. Details inside... [more inside]
Watch this video of Laura Glaess's Charleston routine from NEGJ 2010 and check out the hip pop to the side she does at 0:19. The way she does it reminds me of an older cartoon clip, but which one? [more inside]

Trying to identify a PC game I played while I was young. I want to say it was a point and click adventure game with darkish themes. It was 2D, not isometric, and I seem to remember there being a level/levels in a silhouetted art style, and *maybe* claymation. (It's not neverhood.) [more inside]
Can you identify this spider? Found in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Camarero something something me muero de sed: What is the name of this Spanish language song about being at a bar on the beach and trying to get the waiter's attention for a drink? I last heard it in 1995 and expect it was made only a few years earlier. I thought the name was just Camarero, but I am not getting the right song by Google. The singer is male, the music generically Latin, and I am pretty sure you hear the drink being opened.
Can you help me identify this piece of music? [more inside]
I'm trying to remember the name of a piece of Interactive Fiction (IF) I once played, but remember almost nothing about. You start the game, sleeping next to your lover--and you can decide the gender of both your character and the lover--in what is essentially a hunting lodge. Your character can do something like shift into other times or other identities--I can't quite remember. I recall that it is supposed to be very long by normal IF standards. Any help?
Help me find a song! It was on Sirius radio on July 23, between 10am and 3pm mountain time. It was a female singer singing over what sounded like a very Pet Sounds-like arrangement. She sounded like Joni Mitchell to me. (Maybe it was Joni Mitchell!) The song also sounded very familiar. I thought it was Both Siders, Now, but I listened to that song again and that's just guitar. This song sounded just a little more upbeat, more poppy, but equally as beautiful. Any ideas?
Several years ago, my boyfriend and I saw a really weird painting/print/poster in a thrift store. We didn't buy it (nooo!), it disappeared shortly thereafter (NOOO!) and it's haunted us ever since. What WAS it? [more inside]
So, I have this song allegedly performed in Haitian Creole. What are they singing? Can you divine a title? [more inside]
Please help identify a song, or a band that played it - lyrics are below. It was on a now long-dead mixtape made in the mid-90s by a San Francisco resident, so I've always thought it was a San Francisco or Northern CA band, but could be wrong. The singer was female, an alto, IIRC, devoid of vibrato; the band had a pair of violins and a couple of acoustic guitars and employed different tempos within this song. The lyrical focus was ecology. A recent conversation reminded me of something I once read. It was in a Playboy magazine, likely mid-80s, and it was either a short story or an excerpt from a novel if Playboy even does that kind of thing. From what I remember it was written in the first person about a guy (a reporter?) who hears about this Vietnam vet that has learned some art of tattooing which acts as the perfect camouflage. I'm trying to come up with the name of a short story I read eight or ten years ago. It is a first-person narrative of the domestic life of a cynically detached man who lives with his wife and kid. [more inside]
Does anyone know what this is, found in our house, built in the 1920s? Looks too well made to be a nail. Marked with a W on the head. http://gallery.me.com/weissbier#100240
Please help identify this movie and, of course, I can barely remember the details. [more inside]
I am looking for a poem that I read in Time or Newsweek or some such magazine about ten years ago (probably longer). I am almost sure that the poet was Scandinavian and the poem was about the co-existence of good and bad things in the world. The poem illustrated this concept by talking about the existence of a tongue amongst sharp teeth and how a gentle heart is held by the rib cage. Any ideas? Thanks.

Can someone help me to identify this fruit? It is from South India and tastes a lot like coconut. The person who gave it to me wasn't sure of the name. Some research suggests it might be a "coconut apple" which is the inside of a very ripe coconut. It looks whitish/clear like ice-with a husk. Here are some pictures (1, 2, 3, 4)

Help me Identify a movie based on a fragment of it. A mobster (somewhere in USA like NYC maybe) is in his home with his wife, and is lamenting to her that he must soon go do something or confront some people that he doesn't want to. And she says something like "you're the king of the castle, and I stick by you" or something to that affect. And that sometimes he'll have to do some things that aren't fun, but he will still have to do them. This is a mobster movie probably from 90's or 2000's. Thanks a lot!
Can anyone help me identify this meme/macro? The usual format is something like "What are you doing there, you're an X, Xs can't Y." It's usually on a picture of something unusual, as in the example. If anyone knows the name of this meme or where I can find more of them, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I need help un-disorted a sound clip. There is a sound in Civilization 4 that plays whenever you discover Judaism. I could not place it--and I know my Jewish prayers--so I dug in the install folder and found the full file. It is heavily distorted in a way I cannot quite figure out. Could someone help me see if this was ever a prayer to begin with, or was just random vocalizations approved as being "Jewish enough" in order to avoid offending people with actual prayers? Help me find the name/author of a short story with the following plot: human children are the work slaves of gremlins (goblins?), and made to do manual labor underground. Those with good behavior and who are getting older are "graduated" and told that they're being freed, but after a gremlin-only "ceremony," are killed for food instead. [more inside]
