Identify this dead
bird, please! It is a wee, greenish-yellow little thing that we assumed was a female goldfinch, but on closer inspection, maybe isn't?

Can anyone identify this 25-year-old book? It's a book on study skills (reading, note-taking, time management, etc.) for college students, published before 1985. There's one particular line. In the section on time management, the authors note (paraphrasing): This may seem like overkill now, but if you become (say) a lawyer, you'll need to manage your time far more intensively. Does anyone remember reading this?

Please help me identify these seeds/pods found outside the Cité des Sciences & l'Industrie museum in Paris, France. There are a bunch of trees there and I'd like to know what kind they are. Seed pods
closed and
opened up. I also found a photo of the trees in bloom
here. Thanks!

Name that song! Instrumental. Very recent. Overheard on the radio and in stores/restaurants where they typically play indie/alt rock. Bouncy. Very strong bassline. Kinda reminds me of Air.

I'm trying to remember the name of a piece of Interactive Fiction (IF) I once played, but remember almost nothing about. You start the game, sleeping next to your lover--and you can decide the gender of both your character and the lover--in what is essentially a hunting lodge. Your character can do something like shift into other times or other identities--I can't quite remember. I recall that it is supposed to be very long by normal IF standards. Any help?

This ring turned up at my deceased grandmother's house and no one recognized it. General consensus was that it looked like a man's ring from the 1970s. The band/base appears to be gold and the design appears to be rose gold. Can anyone recognize the design or shed any light on this?

I saw a trailer for an indie film about 6-8 months ago, or maybe a little longer. Please help me find the film based on very little information - gritty, realistic, probably not directly related to crime or police, set in Baltimore. The Baltimore bit seemed very important.

I recently ran across this little lady on my garden hose in my backyard in Milwaukee, WI. She moved very quickly when she wanted to, but mostly just tried to stay out of the sun. I
snapped a
couple pictures. She had a small white spot on top of her abdomen.

An attacking cardinal has drawn my attention to
this wasp's nest outside my window. Is it an unusual shape? I can't remember ever seeing a "starter" nest with this sort of tubular entranceway. Maybe I just haven't been very observant. The examples I've found on the internet say that it's the distinctive shape of the Median wasp's nest but that's supposedly a European species and I'm in Toronto. It's about 3" from top to bottom. I haven't seen anything fly in or out of it yet. What'sthatbug is on holiday. The sooner I can stop wondering about this, the sooner I can get back to work.

Does anyone know what this is, found in our house, built in the 1920s? Looks too well made to be a nail. Marked with a W on the head.
