The birdsong in question!
This is a bird in southeast Portland, OR. We've never caught a definite glimpse of it, so I cannot give any details on size/color/et cetera. This is its main song (although it was singing kind of short this day); it cycles this for an hour or more. It varies slightly at some point, but then comes back.

There's an artwork on public display in my community that isn't labeled with the artist's name or the title of the piece, and I'd like to know more about it. The facility that has it on display doesn't have the information, so I'm hoping you could take a look at it (or just read my description) and tell me if you know more about it, or where I could find out who created it and what it is called. It's a rather unique piece, being a full-length overcoat that's been hardened/cast and mounted on a large canvas. The yellow floral pattern of the coat is seamlessly transferred to the background of the canvas. For a link to a phone-cam pic I took of it, click [more inside]

My partner and I were remembering our differing childhood experiences of homemade spaghetti. At one point, she brought up using the leftovers in a spaghetti sandwich. I've never had one, but this triggered a vivid memory of a favorite picture book which had at least one illustration of a spaghetti sandwich. Among other odd sandwiches, possibly. I'd love to remember the title of the book and, ideally, see that illustration. [more inside]

I am trying to identify a tree (or shrub thing pruned into a vaguely tree-like shape) that I walk by every day. It has purplish/magenta-ish blossoms and it smells lovely. No it is not a lilac. It is currently in bloom (in the Pacific Northwest). Pics inside. [more inside]

Okay, so there was this show (maybe on the USA network?) around 1990-ish, maybe. The premise was that a former superspy/secret-agent/hero had retired to the suburbs, and his former archnemesis moves into the house next door. They're still kind of enemies, but in a Simpsons/Flanders "friendly" way, instead of trying to kill each other like they used to. What is this show? [more inside]

I need help identifying a children's book that may have been illustrated by someone whose style was similar to that of Maurice Sendak, Audrey Wood, and even Tomie dePaola. [more inside]

I'm trying to remember the name of a piece of Interactive Fiction (IF) I once played, but remember almost nothing about. You start the game, sleeping next to your lover--and you can decide the gender of both your character and the lover--in what is essentially a hunting lodge. Your character can do something like shift into other times or other identities--I can't quite remember. I recall that it is supposed to be very long by normal IF standards. Any help?

Does anyone know what this is, found in our house, built in the 1920s? Looks too well made to be a nail. Marked with a W on the head.

The other day I spotted a very handsome shoulder bag of brown leather with a red stripe. I want to own one just like it. I wasn't able to ask the owner where he got it, but I was able to spot the manufacturer's logo. It looks like a heart, split down the middle into two lobes, and lying on its side. I've drawn a very crude version of it here
It looks faintly familiar to me -- does anyone recognize it? And in general, is there a good resource somewhere for looking up logos?

Another "what's this song?" question. Google-fu and music search engines failed me. Lyrics that I can remember of it are inside. [more inside]
