My spouse went surfing and found this bird
bobbing on the waves. There seemed to be something wrong with the bird so he took it home. Here's another pic
. The bird is very passive and doesn't move much, so we're guessing it's either ill, injured or exhausted. What bird is this? And what should we do with it? We're in Holland. [more inside]

The birdsong in question!
This is a bird in southeast Portland, OR. We've never caught a definite glimpse of it, so I cannot give any details on size/color/et cetera. This is its main song (although it was singing kind of short this day); it cycles this for an hour or more. It varies slightly at some point, but then comes back.

Woke up to this bird
squawking in my backyard in north central Texas. Obviously the video quality is not great, but can anybody help me identify it based on its call? Mississippi Kite? Hawk? And do they eat kitties?
For perspective, its on top of a 30ft bald cypress tree. It appears to be at least 18-24 inches from head to tail.

Identify this dead bird
, please! It is a wee, greenish-yellow little thing that we assumed was a female goldfinch, but on closer inspection, maybe isn't? [more inside]

Can anyone identify this bird
with its chick and does anyone know the breed of this
Both were photographed in the UK, but the bird was at a reserve that has birds from all over the world. I believe the guinea pig is a recognised UK breed.

I heard a bird outside my window yesterday. I'm in Western New York State. The only way to describe its song is a slow 'yoo-hoo...' performed as a whistle. Didn't see the bird. Heard it at about 10AM local time.
I've been pouring over whatbird.com, but their categories of calls don't seem to fit what I heard.
I'm happy to provide more information if I can. Yesterday's weather was a completely clear sky, with high temps in the mid 50's F. [more inside]

Birders: Help me figure out what bird I saw today! It looked a lot like the bird in this picture - the Greater Ani
- but that bird's not usually sighted in North America, according to various internet sources. [more inside]
