How do I figure out what I want to be when I grow up? I've been very lucky in my life so far—just a little bit of work has yielded me amazing opportunities that have more or less fallen into my lap. But I'm starting to realize that I have no idea how to set, develop, and follow through on goals on my own.

I get a box of fruit & veggies delivered to my house every two weeks. Let me tell you something. IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. However, I rarely finish all of the apples and pears and bananas. I stuff them into the freezer when I don't eat them, but... my freezer is overflowing with frozen apples and bananas, and I think a few pears. What can I do with them?

I'm looking for examples of websites that have successfully enhanced a research community (academic or artistic) with a dynamic online/social/mutual-portfolio presence. Blog and social media based hubs, perhaps, that showcase the possibilities of web portfolio/research integration for
academic and

Gift ideas. Want to send about 50 small gifts to a software dev team that has done an excellent job. Ideally, there's something for everyone, rather than a few things that have to be shared. I don't have much money -- maybe $50-$100 total to spend. Ideas?

What makes for a good elementary school newspaper? What makes a
great one? I'd like to know what parents appreciate (and what they'll actually read). I'd like to know what you liked best when you were a student, either from a contributing or reading standpoint.
I'd like to know from school employees/authorities what one needs to be mindful of. And I'd be very glad to know of what I can do to avoid any problems. I'd like to know from teachers about what school newspapers can do for students; and what one could reasonably ask for from the various grades to allow for students to make contributions and so the content is balanced for all ages. I'd love to see links to anything inspiring, and to ideas for content and design and such. So, I'd like a lot of information about stuff I have an idea about, but not much practice with yet. And that's a lot to do with three double-sided pages, I know.

Need ideas for websites I could build. I am going to be in between jobs in the next few months. That gap could be a week or it could be a year depending on how long it takes to find my next gig. During that gap I would like to stay productive. I am a project manager, but I can write decent python/js/css/html. I need ideas for websites I could build that 1) I would have fun doing, 2) Would be something I could talk about in interviews, and 3) Could maybe produce a community, traffic, or a few dollars.

I'm a web developer with enough proven abilities to develop good stuff that end users like. I'm employed, but want to start a business with a couple of friends with complementary skill sets in the technical side of things. We'd like to create one or more web-based products used by small-to-mid-size businesses and/or individual consumers, paid for on a monthly basis using a "software as a service" model.
We've got more than enough combined development and graphical/UX design abilities, but we have no solid product ideas that we feel confident enough about to start doing the enormous amount of work involved in any of them. The main problem with any idea we get is this question: how on Earth do you convince anybody to pay you money for the product?
