I recently ran across this little lady on my garden hose in my backyard in Milwaukee, WI. She moved very quickly when she wanted to, but mostly just tried to stay out of the sun. I snapped
a couple pictures
. She had a small white spot on top of her abdomen.

Half-remembered board game ID question: In the mid-'90s, my family was visiting some friends who owned a strange board game involving evolution, species, a hexagonal grid, and lots and lots of dice. What was it? [more inside]

Can you identify this
(seemingly) misidentified piece of electronic music? It's supposedly by Marumari and is called "Kid Icarus Fight", but I am pretty sure that's incorrect... [more inside]

Song from the Wire, season 1 episode 6. Here's a Youtube
of the scene uploaded by someone else looking for it. It is not
"Respect the Nubians" by Positive Black Soul, that comes after. It's not on the soundtrack disc. There are a lot of google hits for people looking for it
but no one has found it. Do you know it?

I took a picture and posted it on my site as a desktop wallapaper. I would like to title the image with the appropriate name of the tree — it was taken at Chicago Botanic Garden. Can someone identify this type of tree?

Some websites I use log me in automatically (Facebook) with full access to the site. Some automatically log me on, but require PW confirmation if I want to do something that may potentially compromise my security (LinkedIn, Amazon). Some websites demand a login each time I access the page (banking/trading sites; some of which save my login ID, none of which save my PW).I know precious little about this stuff. Cookies, is it? What are some things you like to tell or remind yourself about when you have "woe is me" moments to steer yourself out of self-pity/moments of weakness and back into awesomeness?

I have some screenshots from a television show, and I would like to post them somewhere so that someone could identify the specific filming location for me (they weren't shot on a set, but on location; the Angeles National Forest area in So. California specifically). I've tried doing this in some Flickr groups but it's been fruitless. Any suggestions of some sites or online communities that could help me out? Thanks in advance!

Meta-art-historians: Can anyone help me identify this luminous still life painting
? The fruit is almost old-masterish, but the cocktail glass with the pink liquid looks more modern. What do you think is the liquid in the glass?

I saw this mysterious item on a kayaking trip in Ten Thousand Islands in January.
I can't even tell if it's plant or animal or what. . .
This has been bugging me for a while, thought I'd try here.
For reference, according to my memory this object is about 8-10" long.
Any clues are appreciated! [more inside]

I've been trying in vain to ID this deep house track that features the following lyrics: "There ain't no pill that can fill this need" and "Somebody call the doctor" (there's more to it, but this is what I can remember). It was played at Panorama Bar, Berghain, by Kiki at around 11am or so last Sunday morning. [more inside]
