How do I keep the "Popularity" Column Always Active in ITMS? I like to check out all the new music every week and for efficiency start with the "popular" songs for that album. Each time I go to a new album in the music store I have to reselect that column. Is there any way to have it always selected?

Sneaking into the UK ITMS?

Roisin Murphy has a new album out that I will happily pay money for and would like to hear ASAP. Problem is I'm in the States, and physical import CDs don't appear to have hit here yet. Is there any tricksy way for someone outside of the UK to buy from the UK iTunes store? I'm well aware that there are a number of torrents already out there, but I'm trying to be good.

I have 36 free iTunes Music Store downloads. Any recommendations? While at the Virgin Festival in Toronto this weekend they were giving out cards for free iTunes downloads. Each card offered 3 free downloads. I, being a sleuth, acquired 20 or so cards. After giving many away to friends, I have 12 cards remaining.

This translates to 36 free, legal downloads. So I am putting it out to you to tell me what I should download. Bonus points for good iTunes-specific downloads only available on the ITMS (rare versions, B-sides, odd covers, one-off singles, etc.).

And here are five bands that are good starting off points for my musical tastes, so you're not lost: The Flaming Lips, Otis Redding, Spoon, Pavement and Nouvelle Vague.

(If it makes any difference, I go through the Canadian store.)

What time are albums actually released on iTunes? The new Spoon comes out tomorrow, and I want to get it the second it's available. Is there a set time, like 12:01 am PST? Or does it just show up whenever they happen to update the store? (Yes, I realize there are, ahem, other ways to get the album, but call me old-fashioned.)

iTMS Gift Certificates for Aussies

I was reading this thread the other day and it got me wondering how the iTMS gift voucher system works. We have friend who is working here in Australia until the end of the year and has a US credit card, can she get us a gift certificate if we have .mac account or do we need to have a US iTMS account for it to work? I'm already aware that this is a technical breach of some terms of service for iTunes I just want to know the technicalities of it all. Have any other Aussie done this successfully?

Can I buy tracks from other countries' iTMS even though I'm in the USA?

Can I access other countries' iTunes Music Store from the United States and make purchases? I like to buy import-only stuff, and it would be nice to be able to download rather than have to pay expensive shipping charges.
