I went to get my 16GB iPhone 5 repaired or replaced under the iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program
today, and after some testing and such I was issued a loaner phone (also a 16GB iPhone 5) and told that mine will be repaired in about 6-8 days. I think I'd like to just keep the loaner, and it seems like that may not be encouraged but may be possible... [more inside]

Okay, i need some advice on what is my best move.
My new company just gave me a new iphone 5s (verizon) 64 gb. I had a iphone 5 (at&t) 64 gb. right after i got my new phone, i dropped my old (at&t) phone & the screen shattered. But thanks to applecare, i got a brand new one for only $50. (Go me!).
Okay... my daughter has a 32gb iphone 4 with a slight crack at the bottom right of the screen... generally it operates kinda slow & she is having some problems with her home button (we had her screen replaced before)
My son has a 16 gb iphone 4 ... his home button also isn't working great... (also, the screen has been replaced before).
That's the summary of our situation....
So my question is... (seeing how i'm good with my new company phone) ... what is my best move to both upgrade both kid's phone & to maybe bank some money?

So I used WAZE for my morning commute on my iPhone. It's on my dash and out of easy reach. But sometimes I get an idea for a thing I need to do when I get to the office. Or a text I need to send. So I have to stretch and reach over for the iPhone button to hold it down and dictate it to Siri.
Then I thought: What if I just had a button. On me.
So that's what I'm looking for. A button I can have close to me that I can press to activate the same function on the iPhone. Not a headset. Or a speakerphone. My car's functionality there works great. Just a button to trigger the thing that's a foot out of easy reach.
Now It'd be great if it was like a pin on and didn't look awful so it could be semi decorative. But frankly even if it was big and ugly and I could mount it on the wheel that would work too.
So...anyone know any straight button options?

My parents and I are about to get iphones (and smartphones!) for the first time. We're trying to choose between the 4s and the 5. I've heard that the 5 models tend to eat through data even when the user isn't meaning to use data. Can anyone confirm, deny, or otherwise talk about this problem? [more inside]

I want to buy a new car stereo, but have no idea how to google for the features I'm looking for.
What I really want is a double din stereo that has a usb port on the front where I can plug in my iphone 5 and play it through the stereo. Now comes the hard part, I want to control the iphone from the iphone. Not through the stereo interface. In otherwords, I want to use the USB port as an Aux out. [more inside]

I've had an iPhone 4 for a couple of years now. It's seen better days; the home button works only half the time, etc. My fiance recently got his first, a 4S, and the difference between it and the 4 is amaaaaazing. I am sorely tempted to upgrade to that for a hundred bucks, rather than wait for the new 5's to come out (esp since there's no guarantee now that the original 5 will come down in price). I'm using the Podcast app with iPhone 5, IOS 6.1.4. Recently, some of the podcasts that I've subscribed to have stopped working. When I try to download them manually (I am not using iTunes, just my iPhone) I get an error message. The vast majority of my podcasts are downloading fine. Why might this be? [more inside]

I have an unlocked iPhone 5 with Verizon. (It is verifiably unlocked for foreign SIM card use -- and yes, even though it is Verizon it does have GSM as well as CDMA). I'm looking for advice on how to travel with it to four countries, with the ability to receive/send calls and texts. I'd like to buy and use one SIM card only. And I want to be sure that I don't use any data, which gets expensive.
So the question boils down to:
(1) Keep the iPhone or ditch it for my unlocked travel phone?
(2) Use the Verizon international plan, or buy an offering from Telestial, Global, etc.?

I am in the UK. I live in Plymouth. My one year Vodafone contract is finally up and I hate them with a passion. I'd like to switch, but as a still relatively new ex-pat I don't know who to switch to. Can you recommend a provider to me based on my requirements inside? [more inside]

I have a lot of vintage paper. Photo albums, fashion magazines, random ephemera-- and a lot of it can't go in a flatbed scanner. I found an iPhone app called SmartScan that lets me photograph pages and corrects for tilt, but the resulting scans aren't as high-quality as my iPhone 5 is capable of. There are a ton of scanner apps out there, but I want the one that lets you capture the highest-res images. Any recommendations?

I'm on my third iPhone 5 since November, due to blobby specks appearing in my pictures. Am I the only one having this problem? Is this a known defect? And if it persists, will Apple just keep replacing the phone? [more inside]

I've Googled this, and asked at both the Verizon and Apple stores, and am getting conflicting information, so I turn to you. Have any of you taken a stock (not jailbroken or unlocked) Verizon iPhone 5 which is under contract (not purchased at full price) to Europe and used the GSM SIM slot with a prepaid European SIM? I have an iPhone 5 purchased unlocked in the UK. I travel regularly to the US for 1-2 weeks at a time, often in situations where WiFi is not an option, and would like to be able to buy a pre-paid US SIM primarily for data. Now that the iPhone 5 has been out for a few months, has anyone finally gotten onboard with pre-paid nanoSIMs for the 5? Or is cutting down a regular SIM still the only option?
