I just bought a new iPad 4 in Japan (along with a logitech keyboard case), and I frikkin love it! It unfortunately, however, tends to crash at the most inopportune times - I do not want this to turn into a dealbreaker.

I guess all hospices will be required to use computer charting only this fall. Now I need a netbook? Laptop? Ipad? I'm obviously clueless about these things and have spent all morning trying to research to no avail....

Say I have an iPad. I decide not to get AppleCare, but I do get an extended warranty using my AMEX card. If my iPad has a problem at the 13 month mark (aka 1 month after the factory warranty expires) and needs to be replaced (which the Apple Store often will do for you), how do I invoke the AMEX card extended warranty so I don't have to pay for the refurbished replacement?

Should I buy a macbook or an ipad? I travel for work pretty frequently and would mostly be using the computer for internet, downloading books and video, things like that, which makes the ipad tempting. I own another laptop, but it's older, so my concern with buying the ipad is that if my current laptop breaks, having ONLY an ipad might not be smart. Would it be worth buying a macbook air because of that? Also, this would be my first mac/ipad, so are there other pros and cons of which I should be aware?

iPad as Hitchiker's Guide: I've got a couple weeks of travel coming up and I want to carry as little as possible. To wit, I want to bring my iPad as my portable Internet Device and I was wondering what apps would make it the perfect travel companion. Which apps have saved your life enroute? What do you wish you had?

I just plugged my work-provided iPad in to my office computer, and it's saying if I don't authorize this computer all the apps (that I paid for) will be deleted; but then it says 5 computers are already authorized so I can't! Please help.

My mom wants a simple computer for internet use, email and word processing, and she's interested in an iPad. The question: would this work? The problem: she's computer illiterate. (Related question: any good systems for teaching an older newbie about computers?) More details inside.
