I've recently created an iPhone app that's not a game, but falls more in the "Entertainment" category (it uses Twitter to predict the future). And I'm not sure where I should try to send it for review/exposure, as most review sites are game-oriented. I've tried the usual suspects (MeFi Projects, submitted to BoingBoing, shared on FB and Twitter), but am surprised at how quickly I'm running out of ideas for places to send this guy to. A strange mismatch is going on between my Mac Contacts and my iPhone contacts.
Even though I'm using a single Apple ID on both machines, certain contacts exist on the iPhone but not the Mac and vice-versa. I haven't been able to find the explanation for this. [more inside]

So far I've found decent trackers for individual activities, and crap trackers (eg FitList) for multiple activities.

I'm currently coding an iPhone messaging client app which could use a designer for the screens and the app icon.
I've tried oDesk.com and I'm having doubts about the quality of some of the applicants.
Are there any good suggestions for websites that can provide a good designer? I'm looking for high quality work and I'm willing to pay a reasonable rate for it (though I would rather pay per project - currently I set $1000 for the project).

We're going to have some folks filling out the same simple form on a regular basis. Is there an app-based solution where they can enter the data and upload it securely to a central repository at the end of the day?
A web solution may have been easier, but we're worried connectivity might be an issue during parts of the day. We want users to tap an app and be able to fill out a bunch of forms, then upload them all (securely) at the end of the day. A simple, elegant, fast interface would be a real plus. [more inside]

Looking for an iOS app that will let me set up a table (of dice scores and results), then roll on that table by pushing a button. For example, I might set up a table 'FOO': 1-2 = A, 3-4 = B, 5-6 = C. I could then push the FOO button, and it'd roll a d6 and give me A, B or C. Does this sort of thing exist?

After a complicated chain of circumstances involving a SIM migration, a grandfathered prepaid data plan that transferred from an iPhone 3G to a 4 to the current 5S, and many hours (no exaggeration) at the AT&T store while their employees talked to level 2 tech support, I was left with:
- A working iPhone 5S on AT&T, now getting LTE data but restored to factory settings.
- A recent encrypted backup from the phone, just before the wipe.
It is not
an option to restore the entire phone from the backup. Help me restore just the user data for selected apps. [more inside]

I’m interested in the DURR
, a simple display-less “watch” that vibrates every 5 minutes to influence your perception of the passing of time. Since DURR is not currently shipping and I already own an iPhone with a clock and a vibrating buzzer, I feel like this should be doable with an app. There’s already a Pebble app
so I’m sure it’s not crazy.
If this doesn’t currently exist, how hard might it be to write one myself? I’ve compiled things in XCode before but not written my own from-scratch Objective-C, so I’d be approaching this as a newcomer.

I want one phone number to use for talk and text, and I want to be able to send and receive texts on my iPhone or from my Mac without using a browser or a second phone number. Currently, Google Voice does this, but it looks like Google is merging Google Voice into Hangouts this spring, and 3rd party apps will no longer work. GAH! I love being able to send and receive texts for my real number on my Mac (I use GrowlVoice). I'm currently on AT&T for my iPhone, but I'm more than willing to switch to another carrier. What are my options?

In spring of 2014 I will be getting an iPhone 5S. I cannot figure out how to get a plan that includes tethering so I can generate wifi for my non-cellular iPad mini. What will I need to do to activate that during my order (I am switching from Verizon to AT&T) and how do I find out how much it will cost in addition to my unlimited talk/text plus XGB of data? I have already contacted customer support and they have given me the same unhelpful stuff that's on the AT&T website.

If I have an update already downloaded OTA but not installed on my iPhone, will updating through iTunes delete the OTA download once the update is done?
I want to know this because I tried to install the 7.0.2 update on my iPhone 5S (running 7.0.1) and it was unable to verify the update a number of times when trying to install it. So I plugged it into iTunes and did the update through a Mac.
Does the OTA download get deleted on the iPhone when the update is done through the Mac? I don't want to have the update taking up room somewhere on my iPhone.

Does iOS 7 (beta) sync to iTunes 10.7 or will iTunes 11.0.x be required? I have held back on upgrading iTunes past 10.7, but I am wondering if I'll be forced to upgrade to 11.0.x once iOS 7 is released. I sync via USB on a Mac with 10.6.8.
I'm not inserted in WiFi sync and don't use iCloud.

Hi there, I'm teaching my Dad in China to use his Chinese App Store account - His iPhone and iPad Mini are his MAIN cameras these days, and he loves taking photos. I'm a bit rushed as I have to leave China soon, and don't have to time to search through Chinese app reviews (I don't know Chinese well anyway). So, please can you recommend any iPhone and iPad camera and photo apps (paid or free) available on the Chinese App Store that you love. Impressive apps are good; Impressive AND easy to learn and use apps (my Dad is not very tech-skilled and doesn't like complicated instructions) are the greatest. Thanks very much for your tips!!!

I have a cellphone (iPhone on AT&T) that will cost $0.20 per minute (perhaps more) to make a call from the United States to Canada. I'm a cheap bastard and would like to avoid this charge whilst still using my cellphone to place the call. What options are available for me to do this more cheaply? Would I buy and use a calling card (and are there issues I need to worry about with this option), or are there apps that I can run on iOS through which I can call another country more cheaply than through AT&T?

I'd like something what won't seize up or shut down in the middle of a run, that will let me listen to music or a podcast, and that will track my runs for me.
