Bronchitis for 2 Weeks...Then Nose Starts INSANELY Dripping

IKYNMD Two weeks ago I started getting the familiar sore throat and I knew something bad was brewing. First the coughing, then some sneezing, fatigue. Mostly coughing up a lot of phlegm that would amass at the back of my sinisis, it would trickle down into my bronchial tubes. First the color was clear, then yellow. My bronchial tubes are wheezing every time I take a deep breath. [more inside]

Recommendation of Books for 5yo Being Snubbed by Classmates

I am looking for some suggestions of book titles for books that a 5 year old girl can understand though not necessarily be able to read. She's encountering cliques in her kindergarten class, being snubbed, and the teacher is offering no help. I realize this is temporary but in the meantime surely there are books letting her know it happens sometimes and maybe some suggestions of how she can work it out. Thanks for any help.

Their needs don’t trump mine - it’s not about “trumping” anyway! Gah!

Sometimes, people will hurt me - and then get so upset about having done so, that they want me to comfort them. Or else they become so inconsolable that we can’t move forward without talking about their feelings. How do you handle these situations when what you need is time to process your own hurt? Should I give this friendship another chance?

A close friend, "Tom" has just gotten engaged to somebody, "Jane", who, in the recent past, despised me for reasons unknown and said terribly hurtful things to me. I am 100% ready to be pleasant and graceful about this, but Tom wants me (and my spouse) to be good friends with Jane. I am not interested in this. Help me figure out how to navigate this situation. I ain't got time for little piggies.

Picture it: Brock "The Python" McMacho, three-time MMA middle-weight champion, retired Navy SEAL and two-time recipient of the Purple Heart, blearily stumbles to the bathroom in the middle of the night. He stubs his toe. Does it hurt? Does it hurt as much as it would hurt me, a big softie? [more inside]

How to pwn a friend.

My friend agreed for me to full on tackle him... We are in the 10th grade, I outweigh him by probably 80lbs, and he said he would let me do it... Questions: can we get in trouble or suspended? Im will only be a few feet away, and he will have pillows, a helmet, and will land on some grass, can he (or I) get hurt? And finally, if one of us DOES get hurt, what will the injurys be?

How can I get over my fear of hurting others?

In relationships, I'm very, very afraid of the possibility having to break up and hurting the other person. DTMFA threads like this make me want to hide under my bed. I often don't get into relationships or pre-emptively end relationships quickly -- even if things are going great -- if I can imagine a time in the future when things won't work out. The fear makes it hard for me to know myself how I really feel. So my question to you all: can you give me advice -- maybe links to psychological studies or just from your own life experiences-- on how someone can know if a relationship is worth pursuing. Not looking for guarantees of eternal happiness and marriage, just the knowledge that even if things don't work out, I'm pursing the relationship in good faith... and not being an asshole.
