What are some great New York hotels with rooms good for a family of four (two adults, two kids)? Preferably in Manhattan, preferably in a cool area, and preferably cool architecture/design.
So, spouse and I snagged an invitation to the "Man of Steel" premier (at Lincoln Center) and after-party in New York. But, I've never been to New York and don't have a clue about the place. I have a couple of questions.
I've tentatively booked a room at the Empire Hotel (price and location, along with reviews seemed reasonable), my question for you folks is: Is there a compelling reason why I SHOULDN'T stay there? And, if the answer to that is "Do Not Stay There!!!", what other options are there (close to Lincoln Center, room cost $300 per night or less)?
The second half of the question is: I'll have from Saturday evening (June 8th) until later afternoon on Monday to experience New York... What should we do?
I've been awarded a fellowship that allows me to go on an international study tour of Sweden and the USA. Metafilter locals, tell me where I should stay in New York, San Francisco and Honolulu. Bonus question: what cafes/ shops/ other places should I check out on my weekends off? Details after the jump... [more inside]
but for NYC midtown. Coming up on an anniversary and need to escape our apartment and find a room with a hot tub! Preferably without selling a kidney. Super bonus points if you can also recommend a place to buy super-soft women's PJs in NYC. [more inside]
Any recommendations for New York City Midtown/Times Square hotels for about $250 a night, including taxes? [more inside]
I'm planning a trip to New York with my girlfriend in March of 2008. We're leaving with a bus that stops at Port Authority. I'm wondering what are some moderately priced near by hotels that we could check into.
My beloved and I are headed to NYC for our honeymoon in early September, and we're looking for nice but inexpensive accomodation. Any pointers? [more inside]
Coming to New York for a week's holiday. I'd like to find a nice, interesting hotel in a convienient location for touristy things, preferably with free in-room wifi, for about $200 per night (for a double room). Any tips? [more inside]
Anyone have a favorite hotel in Manhattan? Myself and a few mates are all meeting up in NYC for a getaway weekend and are looking for a cool place to stay, somewhere in the $150 - $300 / night range. We are all in our late 20's / early 30's, like to shop, party, eat, and chat up classy single women. Any places that might fit that bill?
