My family and I want to stay in Big Bear, CA for a couple of nights this winter (to ski). While I'm willing to sleep pretty much anywhere, others are not.
What's the nicest hotel up there?

At nearly the last minute here, I'm planning an anniversary trip for this weekend in the Gilroy, CA area. We're going to hit a few of the wineries but haven't made any plans on where to stay or made reservations at any decent restaurants. Any suggestions for nice, romantic places to stay and/or eat?

Can anyone recommend a
nice, mid-priced
hotel in Boston, in the city centre but not hard to get to by public transport from the airport? (Bonus points if I'm still going to be able to book a room for two weeks from now.)

How far is it from Harrah's to the Venetian in Las Vegas? I'm heading to a convention being held in the Venetian. I have the option of staying there, or at Harrah's. If I stay at Harrah's, I get a little extra money for drinks and expenses. What I really want to know is how long it realistically takes to walk from a room in Harrah's to wherever the convention center is in the Venetian.

Hotel-Filter: Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana.... In May I'll be travelling with my parents (60ish) and my S.O. to Eastern Europe. We (i.e. mom) won't be interested in hostels (at least not loud, dorm-room-ish ones). We will, however, be interested in quaint, reasonably priced, and very clean / tidy places to stay. They needn't be in the city center. Pensions, B&B's, etc. would be swell as well. Any thoughts on any of these cities will be most helpful....

We are going to be driving from Boston to Toronto on a Thursday night and Friday with our five kids (ages 3 to 16). We want to stop somewhere half-way to sleep--ideally a hotel that is not too pricey but still decent and has an indoor pool. Perhaps a good breakfast, or just a decent breakfast. Where should we stay? And in general, if you needed to find a hotel en route from A to B, how would you do that (the second question is WAY less important than the first)?
