My wife and I would like to go to Seattle for our 4th wedding anniversary, coming up this September. We want to treat ourselves and stay somewhere interesting and fun, but also lavish - something we don't do very often, as we're usually hardcore budget travelers. I saw an airfare and 2 night package at the W for $700 or so; while this is a good deal, I'm also tempted by the Kimpton boutique hotels, but don't know enough about what's available in Seattle (urban B&Bs? Travel prices question. I might have to take a sudden trip to Europe and the cheapest last minute airfares were all over $1,500. But there are also many hotel + flight package deals advertised for the same price or even less. How can this be? And as I've never done the package thing, is it a good way to go? A friend and I will be travelling from Bermuda to Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore for a three week vacation in late October - early November. We are straight single guys, 30, and would love to find some cool places to stay and things to do while we are there. We don't mind paying anywhere from $100 - $250 a night.

My wife is driving with a friend and out 11-yr old god-daughter from our home in Sacramento down to San Diego, leaving Sunday evening.
