In an old cartoon clip, a rider who was perhaps but not definitely yosemite sam goes to jump on his horse again, to ride off. The horse takes exception to this and nays: "Whoooahoahoah no ya don't!" and if I remember correctly, proceeds to stand up, reach around, and yank the rider off his back. What cartoon is this? Super Friday bonus points for a YouTube link.

I have a small paddock in my horse pasture that is used for both tack and hay storage and grooming. It is very crude: tin roof and wood planks with large gaps in between them. Last winter, I used tarp to cover the walls in the tack/hay storage room, but the wind blew them in and over time it was not effective. Without re-building the paddock and spending a lot of money, what is the best way to cover those gaps in between the wood planks? The gaps are probably around 2". Thank you!

My friend just bought a wood carving of a horse head (Pictures: 1

James Thurber fans, gather 'round. I'm reading his The Years with Ross
and in the chapter titled "More Miracle Men" is a Thurber drawing of a star above a horse, and the horse is shedding a tear. I can scarcely believe I'm using a question for this, but I greatly wish to know: Why is the horse crying?

A textbook that I once read contained a passage from some famous author (possibly Mark Twain?) that attempted to illustrate the usefulness of jargon by describing how to saddle a horse, or hitch a horse to a wagon (something like that) without using any specialized terminology. It was marvelously long-winded and impossible to follow. Textbook long since discarded, Google-Fu fails; any idea what this might have been?

will attempt to win her 20th and final race at Churchill Downs. I am not a gambler, but would like to place some bets to make watching the race more fun. Of course, I wouldn't mind winning some money, too. I'm hoping someone here can give me some strategy tips based on these
odds. A friend has suggested placing 12 exacta bets on Zenyatta to win and each of the others to place. The assumption I'm making is that she will indeed win.

Hey London -- I have a pony request! No, really - a REAL pony request:
American Mefite visiting has heard rumours that there are actual pony/horse rides available at some local parks. This is as far as my knowledge on the matter goes.
I am an accomplished equestrian (and do tend to bounce when thrown, anyway) so, I don't want to ride a merry-go-round.
Where can I find a spot to go for a ride? Would anyone like to join me?

My niece lives in New Mexico where she has a small ranch and stable. One of her horses is very ill with constipation. The horse is at the vet's and they are using standard treatment (oil?) but so far with very little result.
Any advice, the situation is getting pretty severe and my niece is worried sick.
