Who's the woman speaking on NWA's "Gangsta Gangsta"?

Who is the woman sampled speaking on NWA's "Gangsta Gangsta"? She says "hopin' you sophisticated motherfuckers here what I have to say", "he'll fuck up you and yours - and anything that gets in his way", and "he'll just call you a lowlife motherfucker and talk about your funky ways."

I've checked http://www.the-breaks.com/ and the samples section on "Straight Outta Compton's" Wikipedia page.

I remember at Lollapalooza '93 in Los Angeles, the sound guys played the source of those samples in between bands. It was like a series of speeches by a woman. I'd really like to hear it in its entirety but I've never been able to find it.

I need a cool remix of a non-denominational holiday song.

Does anyone know of a version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" or "Let It Snow" or "Winter Wonderland" or any other non-denominational holiday song that has been remade so that it's upbeat? A cool electronic or hip hop remix would be awesome. It's important that it's upbeat and not slow and mellow like the originals are usually sung.

I used to love a klezmer band that went by the name of Jewbacca.

Klezmer hip hop? Did I hear that correctly? In a store this afternoon, I heard a few tracks off of an album that I could only classify as klezmer hip hop. There was a very traditional klezmer feel to one track, with the horns, in a minor key, yet there was a very funky hip hop beat underneath it. The next track had a more Arabic sound to it, yet there was still a klezmer, hip hop vibe. I loved it, and I want more. For comparison's sake, it sounded somewhat like Ozomatli, in that there was a real blend of styles. My search on the internet turned up Abraham Inc., which is cool, but isn't it. Can anybody tell me what I heard, or barring that, some other good klezmer hip hop?

Please Rock My Boat

Trying to find similar songs like these: electronic-ish with math-like beats. I love electronic or other genre songs with beats that seem almost mathematical. They often have numerous sequences and parts weaving in and out.

I put songs that exhibit this stuff like Dntel's Rock My Boat and Erin Lang's Happy to See You on this muxtape. Listen for a few seconds and see if any similar songs come to mind. I'm looking for specific songs rather than artist recommendations or instrumental stuff.

Got any songs for me?

Where are rap and rock headed?

Has rap and hip hop essentially replaced rock? Pardon the broad brush here, but the other day I came to the realization that most of the kids (demographics, background, etc) who would have been listening to Talking Heads or Led Zep in the early 80s are the ones listening to rap and hip hop now.

Though I know a lot of net-savvy folks are listening to modern rock (from Radiohead to struggling garage bands putting out mp3s for all), it's not by any stretch of the imagination what I hear on the streets and sidewalks of my town.... nor on TV. Some of what I hear from time to time is country music, but the rest is by far rap/hip-hop.

What are your observations? What's the trend? Is it hip-hop from here out? Do the high school kids who listen to alternative rock or other genres feel marginalized, or does it indeed thrive there?

'eep 'op?

Recommend me some French hiphop and rap, s'il vous plait. Listening to the soundtrack of this parkour video (relevant music starts at about 2:00) linked from the blue the other day has me wanting to listen to more, but I don't know where to start. I've browsed some of the previous threads about French music but they're either too involved in music that's good for practicing French comprehension (not my goal), or just general pop instead of hip-hop specifically.

What should I be listening to? Both French (and DOM) and Québecois is great. Merci en avance!

Name that Tune?

Does this song sound familiar: it was played on XM radio's uncensored hip-hop/rap station- it's essentially a narrative which repeats the phrase/theme "you don't know what it was like to. . ." (e.g., one line was "be a slave in the south"), and the chorus/hook basically repeats something to the effect of clap your hands/stomp your feet. I could have sworn the DJ said it was by "Southern Folks" and called "Crunkified," but after googling these phrases to no avail, I think those must have been more general descriptive terms. It has a very traditional sound/structure, almost gospel-sounding (and none of the more obvious super-slowed down "crunk" sound).

Anywhere in LA that teaches white guys how to NOT embarass themselves on the dancefloor?

Does anyone know any group teachers for club dance in Los Angeles. I'm tired of moving like a white guy on the floor. Basically I've never been a good club dancer and it's kept me from going to clubs. I've decided to do something about it. But I don't want to take individual lessons. For one thing, it'd just be too weird dancing with some teacher one on one. For another I've got nowhere in my apt for them to teach me. (I live in a studio).

So what I want is somewhere in LA that kind of teaches a group 101 on "how to not look spastic on the dancefloor." Any suggestions?

Calling all hip hop heads: Please help me find the name of a soul song used as a fade-out on a Little Brother track. On Little Brother's album "The Listening", track 8 "Shorty on the Lookout" fades out at around 4:20 with a loop from an old soul-ish track and the lyrics:

Why do you keep me hanging on a string
Baby for you I'd do anything
Make up your mind and decide
is it real what you feel?

It's incredibly catchy and I have no idea where the sample came from. Any crate diggers have an idea where 9th Wonder got this clip from?
