Are there resources on the internet where I can find information about what's under the hood of my car? I just feel that being a man and all I should have a good idea of what I'm looking at when I pop the hood of my car. I just want to learn the basics and maybe get a better idea of how stuff works under there. I have a Honda and a Toyota, and I know things are built differently under there, but if there's anything specific to those two then that would be preferable.

So a segment I filmed
('Robin Hood's Nottingham') for Australian TV's Channel 9 'Getaway' show has just aired and I'd love to see the result - but as I'm in the UK I can't watch the online video at the show's site and it hasn't shown up on YouTube (or as a torrent) so is there any simple way I can get to see (or better still download) it? Many thanks!

We moved to a new shack in September. I say "shack," because the house had been neglected for 20+ years, it had no floor (!), a moldy bathroom, and a kitchen that had been constructed by an unskilled amateur cabinetmaker. So, a new kitchen was in order, and I arrogated to myself the role of kitchen architect. Mostly good choices were made, but I made a big mistake in measuring space for a downdraft ventilator for our cooktop, making it difficult to install a downdraft ventilator without using bulky ductwork on a highly visible side of our house.

Both the normal inside-the-car hood release latch and the external back-up hood release cable have broken off of my friend's 98 Ford Escort Wagon, and we need to get under the hood to make the battery cooperate.

Looking for advice/reviews/comparisons/details on simple, inexpensive under-cabinet vented range hoods. Not interested in the luxury "home-improvement porn" design-y stuff. This is not a sexy appliance, and I don't need it to be. For pete's sake.

I was topping off the windshield washer fluid on my 1999 Toyota Tercel. That was easy enough, but now the hood won't completely shut. It will catch on the very first latch, but will not completely shut. How do I make it shut on my own? And if I can't do that, will it be safe enough to drive (not on major highways) until then?

Well, our new old apt (it's new to us, but it's old) has no range hood. Looks like the previous owner decided to make a HUGE pass through. What solutions/options do I have (besides some sort of bizaare way to hookup an ordinary rangehood). Do the somewhat reviled ionic breeze / ionic cleaners work well enough to clean the air? It's a 600 sq ft apt.
