Hondas and recommended service maintenance schedules, do you believe in them? I've got a 1991 standard Hatchback, 169,000 miles. and i've done every single schedule maintenance. never had a problem with anything unexpected happening (which is why i do it). Now i'm wondering if there's a better (read: cheaper) way to do this, without sacrificing quality? I don't know any mechanics, don't want to it myself, but am curious if there's an alternative. I bought a 1997 Honda Accord from my 21 year old Sister - the car was lowered as a "gift" by her one-time fiance. The original shocks/struts were replaced with adjustable shocks/struts. Or something like that. Lowered cars, if you don't know, ride like a wheelbarrow on a cobblestone road. I would like to buy, on ebay or whatnot, the stock shocks and/or struts to repair the ride comfort of this fuel-efficient car. What do I need? Shocks? Struts? Is the Shock also the Strut? Does Strut refer to the way guys with lowered cars walk? I'm at a loss. General information about what the difference between shocks and struts are would be educational. Specific information about exactly what I need for a 1997 Honda Accord LX would be ideal and much appreciated. Someone out there with a '97 Accord with great suspension who would like to trade it for a lowering kit would be even better! I can try to provide more information if it's needed, but I'm dumb enough not to know if more is needed or not.

1993 Honda Civic or 2002 Suzuki Aerio? I love my Honda, with 125K miles, and have taken very good care of it. The engine is great, but I'm at the point where it needs things that cost $500 to $1,000 a pop, plus the interior is really worn. My mom's Aerio, at 65,000 miles, is still under warranty. So I could drive it for a few years and not have to spend any money. I know the Honda is the better car, but does it make sense to keep it and sell the Aerio? [more inside]

I’ve found a nice used 2004 Honda Accord EX that I’m interested in which is about 30 miles away in another town. The dealership is only asking $14,995 and both KBB and NADA both list the worth over $18,000. I did a carfax report for the car and it shows a one owner history with no accidents or anything. I also contacted the local Honda dealership (not the selling dealer) and asked them to pull warranty work done to this car via VIN. The only thing that was done was an Automatic transmission that was recalled and replaced under warranty. What am I missing? Why are they selling this car for what seems to me, much less than the worth of it? I have always assumed that car dealerships are there to screw you however they can. Any help would be appreciated
