Good thrifting blogs?

You'd think it would be easy to find good thrifting blogs... but so far it hasn't been. Here's what I'm looking for: blogs by people who go to Goodwill and similar thrift stores and buy things for their home/garden and either use them as-is or fix them up somehow. I'm not interested in blogs that focus on clothing/fashion, or blogs that are only about crafting with thrift-store stuff, or blogs that are only about buying and then reselling on ebay or whatever.

How can I display photos and postcards somewhere other than my fridge?

Our new fridge is not magnetic and our new apartment is very plain and white. I am not very crafty or DIY oriented, but it would be nice to find somewhere/some way to display all our photos and pictures, and personalise the place a little in the process. I don't mind expending some money on this. [more inside]

Need specific inspiration images for shabby chic bathroom.

I need inspiration for an impending South Florida master bathroom remodel. I like a shabby chic style, and I understand the principles, but desperately need specific images for a bathroom that totals 45 sq feet outside of the shower stall, and probably more like 30-35 sq feet once you subtract the water closet. Rochester NY decorating services / help?

We're remodeling our kitchen and adjacent family room and we need help finding someone in the Rochester NY that can help us pick out and coordinate the colors of our walls, counter-tops, rugs and floors. I've been looking at the web sites of interior designers and decorators and I find them very intimating. It looks like they work on $$$$ projects and we have a modest house and a modest budget. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions?

How do I get that Pier 1 look on the cheap?

I'm working on redecorating my apartment. Now, I'm a sucker for Bombay Company/Pier 1/World Market goods, but I'm saving my pennies for more important things. What are some inexpensive, do-it-yourself ways to give my apartment that "worldly," tastefully-exotic look? [more inside]

Window Covering for (windows of) human and feline dwellers

I have 3 indoor-only cats, a large floor to (almost) ceiling window, a need to cover said window for privacy and an aversion to vertical blinds (which seem to be the only solution but they're ugly, have no insulating properties and have gaps). The cats would definitely try to climb any cloth drape (I know, I know) and their hair hangs off the bottom of fabric like fringe. [more inside]
