I have been brewing and drinking my own kombucha for years. I like the taste, I like the bubbles, and it's a fun and relatively low-maintenance hobby in the realm of brewing things (way less involved than beer, for instance). What I'm wondering is if there is any actual known proven non-woo benefit of drinking the stuff. There's so much crap online it's difficult to sort through.

I am trying to make hard cider and am having issues.
It has fermented for two weeks steadily and burbled the airlock nicely.
But no change in gravity reading and no taste of booze.
I don't understand. If there was gas release then the yeast was active.
I had this happen last time too. I introduced yeast twice, watched air action, etc.
I make beer and wine but am about to give up on something that should be easy but is inexplicably diff.

So yesterday I brewed a batch of beer and I think I've done a few things wrong. I know it's hard to completely screw up beer, but I wonder if what I've done (or not done) is a problem, and how I can correct if necessary.

I am going to keg my homebrew for the first time and take it to a friend's wedding. I have the CO2 system set up and I have checked it for leaks and practiced with H20. Everything is set to go. I need some help about what do next however, because I have to transport the beer twice and I don't have a fridge to keep the beer in (my plan is a cooler and ice). Here's the scenario: Beer is ready to be kegged, the wedding at which it will be served is in 14 days. The beer is in a carboy two hours away from my home and I will need to transport it to my home this week before the wedding. Then, two days before the wedding I will need to transport it from my home 5 hours away to the wedding. What would you do?
