My father, a holocaust survivor, is interested in a Polish film called "Requiem dla 500,000" (Requiem for 500,000, directed by Waclaw Kazimierczak and Jerzy Bossak). I was entrusted with the task of getting a hold of it (purchase/download etc). Where should I start? I couldn't find it on Amazon, Google Video, etc.

I've got a holocaust survivor coming, and I get to ask one question. For some reason, I can't think of a question. We've covered most of the stuff in class, and I just can't think of anything to ask him. He's 82 btw, and hes coming to my college.

The archivist of an exterminated Jewish community has asked me to make a tribute website (the modern equivalent of a Yizkor Book. I want to be evocative and moving and a useful reference for other people tracing their genealogy. The problem is that I have no idea how to create a modern website; or write the sort of material I want; or make it pretty. What sort of help should I look for, and where can I find it, and how much will it cost me?

I need help planning a 50 minute presentation for a Holocaust remembrance day relating to the apartheid in South Africa. It will be focused on the music of South Africa, after giving some background information. Did I mention that it is for a bunch of 7th/8th graders and is happening on Wednesday? [more inside]

Can anyone remember the name of a book from my childhood? Kid lit from the late 60’s/early 70’s. Book is about the Holocaust, I think. Bought the book from the Scholastic Book Club (they don’t have lists from back then). The book has a red cover with a picture of a girl with dark brown hair. Part of the story takes place on a train going to Siberia(?). Hope you can help me find this book!

I saw on the news tonight that there was a sect of radical orthodox Jews (some type of haredim? chasids?) attending the Holocaust denial conference in Tehran, Iran. I know some ultra-orthodox groups deny the legitimacy of Israel based on Scriptural reasons, are these the same guys? Who are they and what is their reasoning for denying the Holocaust? [more inside]

My apologies for this vague description--I used to work in a bookstore where I'd pick up and browse through a number of books. One book included a letter written to God by a Jewish man (maybe a rabbi?) imprisoned during the Holocaust. Part of the letter involved him saying, essentially, "no matter what you do to me, God, or what suffering you send, you can't make me stop loving you. That is the form my free will takes." Does anyone know the author or title?

I'm looking for the name of a movie i once saw half of. Ive talked to some friends about it and some of them seem to remember it to - its all a little vague though, sorry bout that. This whole thing is spoiler-ridden, for obvious reasons, so if you start to read it and a) havent seen the movie before and b) would kind of like to i'd suggest you stop when you think it starts to get good, because i've put down what i THINK the ending is. A friend of mine wants to find a poem she remembers from high school. It includes/begins with the words "God is Dead... we have burned him in the ovens of Auschwitz" or something along those lines. It rings no bells with me and I've googled to no avail. Given my country's strenuous efforts to promote CanCon, this may well be a Canadian poem. Does anyone know the title or author of this poem?
