I always wanted to watch a hockey game from the point of view of one of the players. I've seen cameras mounted on the helmets of like, F1 drivers, but never hockey players. Does anyone know if footage like this exists? I feel that if I were able to see what particular hockey players are looking at I would be able to better understand the second-to-second decisions they make. Thanks.

Sports jersey questions: Why is the baseball pitcher with a single-digit number such a rarity? Why do hockey goalies usually wear 1, or something in the 30s? And why are 2-7 usually worn by defensemen? [more inside]

I am trying to settle a bet with a friend about the Pittsburgh Penguins throwback jerseys (blue). They were wearing them last night and apparently will wear them for select home games. How did they decide which games to wear them for? Is it when they play teams, like last night, that have black and gold on the away uniforms? If so, it's really distracting and hard to follow who to root for :)

I'm looking for an irish/punk-sounding song that often gets played on TV during sporting events. It was played multiple times during the Patriots-Giants game (usually right before commercial breaks) the other day, and I just heard it during the Winter Classic Hockey game too. I can't believe I'm asking this, because it's for an unbelievably dorky reason - but google has not helped, and the actual official webpages only go back to the 70's. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably accurate history of MIT Men's Ice Hockey from the 1950's without having to call them? I can't even figure out if they had a Men's Ice Hockey team in the 50's. Bonus if there's coaches/team rosters/etc, but that's not strictly necessary.

Baseball/Hockey cards: Does anyone have any opinions about any of the software that purports to help with organization of sportscards? Does anyone still collect cards? I'm looking more for personal experience and recommendations. If it helps, I'm looking to categorize and sort older cards (say, pre-1990 but after 1970), and almost exclusively hockey and baseball singles and sets. Thanks!

Hello, my name is Orange Swan, I'm a Canadian, and [takes deep breath] I don't know very much about hockey. Kids' hockey teams have levels, and the levels seem to be Novice, Atom, PeeWee, Bantam, and Midget. Does anyone know the age range breakdown for each of these levels?

Okay, I'm desperate: I want to listen to the World Cup of Hockey, but my shortwave radio can't pick up the CBC too well, I don't have a television, and I don't feel like spending a bunch of cash in a bar (which I invariably do when I watch hockey in a bar).

Any tips on where to find streaming coverage?

Why doesn't an NHL hockey team hire a morbidly obese man as a goalie? He could just relax on his side in front of the goal, covering up the entire goalframe. Hockey goalies are incredible athletes, but is my "proposal" unthinkable? Are there not men big enough, or are there rules that say a goalie must stand, not lie down?
