We get along great; our cats don't. My boyfriend and I will probably be moving in together in the next year. Our cats have already met, as I've taken care of his cat several times, usually for a week or two. They don't get along. Is there anything I can do to reduce the aggression? [more inside]

I just got a new MacBook Pro 15.4 (1.83 GHz). Everything's great, except for a hissing from the right-hand internal speaker anytime a sound plays through it. When just idle, in Word for example, there is no noise. But anytime a sound-using program is booted, iTunes or GarageBand for example, there is a continual hissing and popping noise, similar to fuzz on a television screen, that is very loud. Anytime a system sounds plays, such as the Trash sound, hissing accompanies it. The only way to make the noise stop is to plug in headphones, or external computer speakers. This hissing only occurs through the internal speakers. Does anyone know how to stop this annoying sound?

Mysterious cat illness
Last night, my cat suddenly became distraught, spent a lot of time crying, began hissing at nothing, etc. I took him to the vet, they gave him valium, he started acting drunk. Today, he can no longer walk. I took him back to the vet, and they say he has no kidney/liver problems, that he's probably really sensitive to the valium, and to let him come down for a day or so. I think he may have had a stroke, but the vet said that is really hard to diagnose. Has anyone else had experience with a cat stroke/sudden paralysis/staying high *way* too long?
