Where can I hire a formal dress in Sydney, with in-person fitting?

Surprise! I'm going to a black tie event on Saturday night. I have nothing to wear and therefore need to hire a dress. Everything I can find on Google so far is an online order. I would prefer a brick and mortar building where I can try on someone's inventory of dresses; I've done this before in other countries so I know it's A Thing. Where can I do this in Sydney? Negotiating a Salary for New Job Offer in Libraryland.

I have been offered a position as librarian in a very rich area of California. Though my qualifications (5 yrs experience w/ MLS as librarian in busy urban area), they offered the base amount in salary range, when adjusted to where I live now, is somewhat less as far as I can tell by about $2000. I asked to negotiate salary. This field is tough to move around and this is one of the best libraries in the country. Pay is low in libraries regardless and lower now because of the glut of degrees. The HR person is contacting me soon and I am not sure how to negotiate and feel in a position of little power. [more inside]

Aptitude-based hiring and on-the-job hiring in software companies?

I'm looking for software companies that do 1) aptitude-based hiring and 2) on-the-job training: "If you pass a (often language-agnostic) programming test, in addition to in-person interviews, maybe a code review, etc., we will train you for your job." Library music?

I have a friend on the Local Music Committee of the Toronto Public Library, and they're looking to hire some Toronto-area bands that have a CD and a following, but aren't so popular that the library couldn't afford them or accomodate the huge crowds they'd draw. The group's music would also have to be acceptable for a fairly general audience. However, I'm very out of the loop, current music-wise, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to pass them along to my friend on the committee.
