I once wandered into a store selling vintage steel road frames converted into fixed-gear bikes. I think I was in the Silverlake area, but it could have been Los Feliz or Echo Park (I had been exploring LA all that day with a free TAP Card and wasn't 100% oriented). Does anyone know what store this might have been, or where I could find a similar store in the LA area?

What is this German hairstyle? As seen recently in Berlin on a hip young man and not-hip young child, it seemed shorter on the top than on the sides but not a mullet (my memory is a little hazy), like it must have been a traditional quick n' easy home haircut possibly done with clippers but not something I've ever seen in the states. Bonus: how do you achieve this hairstyle?

In approximately two weeks, I will be holding a Blanket Fort Goodbye Party on almost the entire top floor of an apartment building. Given the excellent ideas I got from
this previous party thread, I thought I'd ask what you crazy kids: what would you want to see at a blanket fort party?

I'm going as a "hipster" this Halloween. This seems normal to some people on here, but I'm typical a very very preppy guy. I'm not looking for what's "in" as hipster today, but what is more stereotypical.. and sometimes my mind goes blank since none of my friends dress this way. I'm not making fun of anyone, but really just going totally against my typical style. This is what I know I need so far:

I'm interested in switching from my palm to a paper based calendar and to do list, but the one thing I can't seem to make work is my phone book. I've been using my palm for many years so, I have a good number of phone numbers built up in there that I want easy access to - and need to be able to add to.
This may sound like a stupid question (use a paper book for phone numbers!), but I'm just interested in how people do this, if they eventually enter numbers back into electronic form to back up (one of the things i like about the palm system is that the couple of times that i've lost my palm, i haven't lost the numbers), etc.
Any advice appreciated.

Hipster PDA question
A few months back I saw a website that had a applet that let you drag and drop various pages into a templet and then print out on a normal sheet of paper a set of six pages that would fold book style. I've been searching all day and can't seem to find it, any idea where this website resides?

How does everyone keep up with new music? Over the past year, blind luck and close reading of a few blogs turned me on to some music I'm glad I didn't miss (Bloc Party, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem). Work and other obligations prevent me from listening to KCRW, KEXP or some other "hip" radio stream all day, and I just don't have the time to read through x-amount of MP3 blogs a day looking for the next exciting thing. Pitchfork's 'Best New Music' feature is helpful, but I'd like something more. Ideally, I'd like a podcast of non-podsafe (i.e., whatever's new and good, signed or otherwise) music or a single blogger who posts frequently and writes well. I'm not looking for a bootlegging outlet, just a reliable source for direction on what's new and worth my time.

Aiie! I lost the bookmark of a webshop of sorts. I remember it was very white with black lines, made in flash, sold a cd or two, a book or two, some toys and it had a jukebox with four songs in it, one of which was of Joshua Ryan. One of the cd's they sold was Joshua Ryan's "By Design", but searching for that on google doesn't lead me anywhere useful. What is this website?
